Description:

1982 Jeep CJ Renegade

I have owned this jeep for five years and it is an amazing vehicle that served my family well. It is truly a one of a kind ride that turns heads. I bought it for my family and me to enjoy while my kids grew up in the Atlanta area. It has been garage kept and has no rust. The tub and all the panels are in excellent condition. I never drove the Jeep in the rain it was simply used as a recreational vehicle for my family and I never took it off-road. In the five years that I have owned it I have put less than 3,000 miles on it. Here is what you get with this jeep:
• Total Miles 184,843
• Rebuilt AMC 360 Motor Motor (V8) with less than 13,000 miles on it
• Rebuilt T-18 4-speed transmission (w/granny gear)
• Rebuilt Rear Differential (2016) - I have the receipt
• Dana 44 rear-end with limited slip
• Dana 30 with Front Locker
• Dana 300 Transfer Case with twin stick conversion
• 4-inch lift suspension and brand new shocks
• 35-inch BF Goodrich All Terrains (like new - great condition) with matching spare on back
• Aluminum Intake
• Holley 4-Barrel Carb
• Levi-Blue Front Seats
• Levi-Blue Back Seat (I tracked a back seat down on eBay and had it covered to match)
• Tuffy Lock Box with Sony Stereo - Upgraded front and rear speakers with Sub-Woofer mounted to the Tuffy box
• Vintage Levi Blue Dash and Sun-Visors
• Levi Blue Bikini Top
• Levi Blue Soft Top (I tracked this down on eBay but have never put it on the Jeep)
• Levi Blue Soft Doors (I tracked this down on eBay but have never put them on)
• Original Pain and Renegade Decals
• 8000 Pound Working Winch with Remote
• Front Bumper set up for tow bar
• Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch (no electrical connection)
• Power Steering with Original Steering Wheel
• Power Front Disc Brakes
• Jeep Floor Maps - Vintage
• Rear Seat Belts - installed
This is a truly amazing survivor of the 80's and spent most of its life in the dry desert conditions of the Southwestern United States. I have the CarFax from when I purchased the vehicle in 2013 and it tracks its history. The body and paint are in unrestored vintage condition. It has just the right amount of patina as do the original Renegade stripes and decals.
The body is very straight and super solid with no rust issues. The frame, body mounts, floor, body panels are all super solid with no signs of previous rust repairs. I do not need to tell you how hard it is to find a Jeep from this era in this great of condition. This Jeep was professionally lifted and the previous owner was a mechanic who went through the Jeep front to back and built it to last. As you may know, the original CJ7's were stock with a V6 engine and the previous owner found an AMC 360 and rebuilt it for durability and performance (mild CAM, Aluminum Intake, Holley Carb, Custom Dual Exhaust, etc.) He sourced a T-18 4-speed with a granny gear for it and then slapped a Dana 44 on the rear-end. The Dana 30 up front has a locker installed and the Dana 300 transfer case has the twin stick shifter conversion. It is truly an amazing vehicle.
Over the years I have had IC Racing work on the vehicle and it has no major leaks and we have practically replaced every gasket in the engine. It cranks right up every time - truly a solid engine and very dependable. Since buying the vehicle in 2013 I have made the following upgrades and additions:
• Added rear seat
• Tracked down the Levi Blue material and had the rear-seat covered to match the front seats
• Bought a full Levi Blue soft top but I have never put it on.
• Bought the Levi Blue soft doors but never took them out of the box (they are original doors)
• Tracked down Levi Blue Roll Bar Padded Covers
• Added a BF Goodrich All Terrain spare on the back to match the tires
• Fixed every leak and issue that came with the engine. It is truly an amazing engine that is built to last
• Had the engine repainted
• New Battery
• Added Sony Stereo System with self-contained rear boat speakers in their own individual box. They are locked down in the rear passenger area
• Amplifier is stored in the Tuffy Box
• Subwoofer is bolted onto the Tuffy Box
• Replaced front speakers in original dash position
I have driven this vehicle on mountain rides and all over the Atlanta area. It is the most reliable vehicle you will even own because there are no electronics to jack it up. The V8 conversion is such an amazing addition to this Jeep and you have to drive it to enjoy the deep throaty roar of the engine and torque. Come to take a look and test drive. I can also arrange for shipping if you are not local.
I am asking $13,500 as I have invested quite a bit over the years. Nothing needs to be done to repair or fix it in any way. It is ready to be enjoyed from the moment you buy it. The only reason I am selling it is I need the space in my garage and I just do not drive it that much now that my kids are grown and out of the house. Call me or email me with any questions.
