1987 Jeep Wrangler

The Basics-
Jeep is a 1987 Wrangler YJ that had a 258 l6 and a manual transmission. My ex wife wanted a Jeep that she could drive and that was dependable. We ended up with this Jeep but in a lot different condition.
The Restoration-
I removed the most from frame and sand blasted everything. Ordered new metal and replaced all rot with new. I mocked engine up on frame with new transmission and transfer case. Ordered new rear driveshaft from Tattons and front was resorked locally. Rear shaft is a high performance unit that has worked great. Frame was painted black. I purchased lift kit, new 4" lift soft ride springs, new Bilstein shocks, New brake lines, gas tank, sending unit, brakes, slotted front rotors, new 18" rims and tires shown. Body was painted by local painter, Linex was done to Jeep tub interior. (Cost me $1000), I personally did bottom of tub with sim. Diy product that turned out good. Painless wiring harness, fuel pump installed at tank for fuel injection. ECM installed, original interior was cleaned up including roll bar and seats. Dash received Autometer gauges. New conversion radiator with black magic electric fans. Front and rear axles received new diff. Covers and new 4:10 gears. Axles received new bearings, ball joint, new steering, dampner, etc. Hard top was painted inside with silver and exterior black to match. Comes with steel full doors.
The Specs-
Engine is a 1995 GM 4.3 V6 that was completely rebuilt. Flat top pistons, .030 over. New injectors, distributor, alternator, battery, AC delete, headers, ECM tune
Engine mates to a 4L60E (Electronic shift tran smission)that was also newly built and overbuilt for bigger tires. HD sprag unit, Red Alto clutches and Kolene steels, sun shell, etc. All new.
Transfer case is a NP231-C HD unit from older GM series since driver side drop. Unit was went through and I installed a slip yoke eliminator kit to prevent further drive line issues. Reluctor ring and sensor installed in tailshaft for accurate shifting and speedometer.
Front axle has the positive locking cable to eliminate vacuum lock. Tires are 35" x 12.50 and have 99% tread left.
4x4 works great, Jeep has Very low miles after rebuilt (less than 10k). Starts no matter how cold and goes great. Easily travel at interstate speeds with PLENTY of power!
