Description:

1976 Jeep CJ CJ7

For Auction is a 1976 Jeep CJ7 with the rare Quadra Trac, automatic transmission. The Quadra Trac transmission was a popular option on the Waggoneers and Gladiator pick up trucks yet rarely ordered on the Jeep CJ's. This Borg-Warner transmission provides limited slip drive to both axels and when you engage the full time 4WD vacuum switch in the glove box, it locks the axels into full time full time 4WD on both axels. Excellent for off road, you don't have to get out and lock and unlock hubs. I bought this Jeep in Pueblo Colorado 2 years ago and it was rough. Since I bought it I have replaced / repaired New brakes and brake components all around / belts & hoses / new steering box / new front end components, drag link, tie rods / removed and recoated gas tank reinstall / new chrome corners / new battery / new shocks / alignment / new fender flares / new fuel lines / used swing away tire carrier installed on back. That is all I can think of now. The pictures will tell you a lot. It is my solid daily driver. It needs nothing except the finishing touches to make it yours. The Jeep is rust free, I don't know why they decided to Rhino line the thing inside and out, but they did. Anyway, you don't have to worry about it rusting. The odometer does not function. The guy I bought it from swore it only had 66K miles on it. It was his uncles and was never out of his families' ownership. I have had some body work done to straighten out a couple of nerf spots, nothing big. It has a WJ top, and solid doors, I would get the correct CJ top if I was going to keep it. I would also fix some burnt out lights in the dash. There is some engine fumes that make their into the cab so I'd probably seal it better. I just crack the window. Hey, it's 41 years old! 1976 was the first year for the CJ7's. This is a 41 year old survivor in great condition. As a young man I had a Jeep Scrambler and while raising kids I had a bunch of XJ's so I respect the brand. This CJ7 has the 304 V8 which doesn't smoke and runs out great. When I got the Jeep I was working from my home office and only needed it to run around town. Unfortunately, I'll be commuting longer distances fairly quick and need the funds from this jeep for another vehicle. These old Jeeps are just geared to high to go long distances regularly. For the price I paid for this Jeep along with all the fixes to make it safe and drivable, not to mention the rarity of the Jeep, this is a great deal. I'm pretty firm on the price. Any lowball or ridiculous offers with be greeted with laughter and a resounding no. I'm an old guy who has had and restored many vehicles. This Jeep has been babied ever since I've owned it.
