1947 Jeep Other

This is a 1947 Willys CJ-2A with the Go Devil motor. I bought this jewel 3 years ago. It ran when I bought it but I took it in to the shop for an oil change and tune up anyways just to start a maintenance record on it. They also replaced the battery & generator because they said the old one was about to go. I lived on a small island for a while so I used it as a little island hopper & it was awesome. Tops out around 39mph... if you need to go faster than that you're living wrong. Never had any issues with it starting just had to pull out on the choke turn the key until it sputtered then push the choke in & turn the key again and it would fire right up. I tried to crank it in March & I think I burnt out the starter or something. I thought it was the battery cable but I replaced it & still not getting the juice. I need the space in the carport & figured whoever bought it would probably want to fix it themselves anyway.

I completely repainted it when I got it. Sanded the paint down to give it a rat rod vibe. I added the fuel can & ammo box even though this isn't a military Willys it gave it character. I dura-coated the inside which is holding up well. I even took out the tank & repainted it. I replace the dash plate tailgate windshield rubber and a couple other things here and there. The break lights had a tendency of going out due to a weird switch design so as you can see I outsmarted the engineers and wired a push switch to the petal... genius. I also got rid of the factory tail lights for modern military LEDs... looks way better. I also stenciled Patton on the tailgate because I'm not a communist.

This thing has been the most fun vehicle to own. It is truly a machine that puts the fun back into cruising. The gear changes can be a little tough might need some fluid. Could need to be rebuilt. I have no clue. It does pop out of 2nd gear occasionally but since you are only in 2nd for a second it was never a big deal. The gas gauge & speedo do not work... Jeep life.

I am not one of those deceptive sellers. I will tell you whatever I know about it. I don't know a ton about cars so technical questions won't work. I just want whoever buys it to be as happy as I have been with it.
