1974 Jeep CJ 5

Serving as the ultimate symbol of cool utilitarian transport, Jeeps have become one of the most recognized vehicles ever. Since serving on the battlegrounds of World War II, the Civilian Jeep (CJ) like this 1974 Jeep CJ-5, has been the vehicle of choice for the enthusiast that wants to take their fun off the asphalt and onto the trails. As far as classic Jeep aesthetics, it doesn't get much better than this. The CJ is covered in an ultra-slick black paint accented with silver Renegade graphics, giving it a nostalgic look for the era. Up front is the highly recognizable, seven-bar grill that houses clear headlights and parking lamps. Below that is a new large tubular bumper that is tough enough to tackle anything in front of you and has plenty of room for any off road attachment you may wish to add. Plus, its matching partner is protecting you in the rear. The full Bestop soft top is a recent addition, so all the windows are nice and clear, and it fits crisp and tight. With the roof and doors on or off, this one has a nice aggressive stance thanks to the lifted off-road suspension and big 33x12.5 General Grabber tires wrapped around 15-inch alloy wheels. The same kind of usability can be found inside, too. All the seats have matching newer vinyl covers that are crisp and durable. Remember these interiors are just about designed to be cleaned with a hose if you want, but the is some showmanship amongst the function. There's some nice mirror finish elements around the center glovebox, grab handle, and Grant three-spoke steering wheel for that same added touch of class you see on the exterior mirrors and wheels. The original six-cylinder engine is long gone, replaced by a stout 360 cubic-inch V8 borrowed from the CJ's larger Jeep/AMC siblings. There has been some nice investments in the engine bay that goes well beyond the tidy wires and hoses. The shiny Edelbrock air cleaner and valve covers are actually hints at the performance intake and four-barrel carburetor of the same brand. This connects to Hedman headers and a dual exhaust for enhanced horsepower and torque. Plus, it now has a rumble that lets everyone know your Jeep has a seriously fierce heart. Because you demand reliability, too, this V8 is backed up by steadfast components like an MSD ignition and a TorqFlo electric fan. The transmission is a factory four-speed driving a stout two-speed transfer case and heavy-duty axles at both ends. Power steering and front disc brakes make it easy to drive on or off-road.This Jeep CJ-5 is a turnkey package for the buyer who wants an undeniably fun toy at an irresistible price. Affordable Jeeps like this are a rare and hot commodity. Call today!!!
