1971 Jeep Commando
This is 1971 Jeep Commando... It runs and drives very well. It is headed into the shop now to check out the brakes.. all 4 wheels are still drum brakes and we believe they need some cleaning and adjustment. We believe this to be an original AMC 304 V-8 paired with a 3 speed automatic transmission. It pulls well and shifts strong, no slipping here. It has a throaty dual exhaust sytem and sounds good!!The interior appears to be seats and roll bar from an older Wrangler but seems to fit well. The roll bar is just bolted in thru the floor, therefore Steve White Motors does not recommend this vehicle for rollover stunts. The body is pretty solid, it does have some small spots of bondo in the quarter panels, and the paint is older, but buffed up and looks good for now. The inside floor has what appears to be,cans of spray in bedliner material, looks ok, but could use redone with a little more attention to detail. The radio works and the speakers have sound... not great sound but tunes none the less. The horn works and has been moved to a push button on the dash... great place to start a truck or air horn set up!! This is great solid project for the true JEEPenthusiast or some backyard garage clean up driver... Obviously priced thousands less fully restored Commandos this is affordable for all!! This vehicle is being offered AS-IS and can still be delivered to your front door. Let us know how we can assist you thru our simple process of new and used car ownership.
