NO RESERVE LISTING! I've got too many Jeeps and they have to go! My loss is your gain!
1981 Jeep CJ7 Renegade. One-owner Jeep!
This CJ7 was originally bought in Georgia and spent most of its life in FL. I purchased it to perform a frame-off restoration to make it look like it did the day it came off the assembly line. This is a SOLID Jeep as-is, but I'm anal like that. I have 20+ collector vehicles that I own, and have owned more than a dozen Jeeps, as Jeeps and Broncos are my real passion. This was going to join the collection, but plans have changed and I need to start liquidating some of my vehicles.
This CJ was garaged its whole life until about 1 year ago. I bought it from the widow of the original owner, who had it stored in outside storage with a tarp covering the vehicle. The decals are a bit faded and there are some cracks in them, but it is a 35 year old Jeep!
The engine valve cover has a pretty good leak. It has dripped down the engine over the years and some is on the bottom of the tub. The transmission and transfer case do appear to be leak free. Remember, a little bit of oil makes a big mess, so it looks much worse than it is. The Jeep runs solid and shifts perfectly. The Jeep was never low on oil, so rest assured there are no engine issues or anything like that. 4WD works perfect as it should. No problems whatsoever shifting it.
The cat converter is rusted out, and will need to be replaced. I suggest replacing the whole exhaust system.
This Jeep has no "real" rust to speak of. The frame is as solid as they come, and the tub is in great condition. The floor boards has some surface rust that wipes off with your hand. Nothing that needs to be replaced or anything like that. If you're going to drive this vehicle as-is, you don't have to worry about rust....at all. Again, very solid body and frame. I have added photos of the undercarriage. There is some caked on dust and stuff that stuck to the oil that dripped. Again, please believe me when I tell you there is no rust to speak of. Everything wipes off and the tub and body are all very solid.
This Jeep has a couple of small dents. There is a dent on the passenger side on the rocker panel. Very small. Additionally, the tailgate has some dents on it and the passenger side rear brake light was dented in at one point. All very minor body issues that don't need any work if you plan on driving this Jeep. Overall, it is very solid. Just trying to be as transparent as possible.
This Jeep is very original. The dash remains unmodified, but does not have the original radio. The original radio was replaced with a newer tape deck, but the dash has not been cut. The replacement radio fits in the factory cutouts. Also, the front seats and the center console were replaced too. They are in good condition. The Jeep has a newer Besttop soft top that is in very good condition.
My plans were to take this back to an original vehicle, but as stated, my plans have changed. I'm not a dealer or anything like that.... I just love cars and own a lot of them. I currently own several CJs that I am selling as I just don't have the room or time to get them all done. My loss is your gain. Several of these Jeeps I'm selling at a loss, unfortunately. I'm very honest with my description and please know this vehicle is NOT misrepresented in the slightest. What you see is what you get!
