1969 Jaguar E-Type

1969 Jaguar E-Type

Roadster 4.2

Meticulously restored without regard to expense

This is a great opportunity to purchase a stunning, rofessionally restored, xample of one of the fastest appreciating cars in the world today. E-Type jags have always been highly sought after. However; in the last several years they have been one of the best investments in classic cars you could make. Still climbing in value with every sale these are considered to be one of the most beautiful car designs ever built.

This completely original, umbers matching car received an extensive nut and bolt restoration from one of the finest shops in the mid-west about 10 years ago at a cost of over $60,000 (all documented), fter the purchase price of the car,and was completely restored. Today this restoration would cost in excess of $100,000.Every mechanical component, very part andevery panel was removed and restored to new or better. All thebrightwork was re-platedor polished asneeded. All soft parts replaced. The engine and transmission were rebuilt and all painted surfaces stripped and properly repainted. The end result was an award winning, etter then new E-type. Since it restoration it has been driven approx. 1,000 miles.

If you are considering a restoration project of your own, lease reconsider as you can buy this car at a fraction of the price. Imagine buying a Jaguar brand new in 1969 and then put it in a time capsule. Open the time capsule today and this is what you have. You can spend ridiculous time and money trying to duplicate this finished vehicle or you can buy this one, omplete andpristine for a fraction of the cost.

After owning the car for the past ten years the owner decided to donate it to a local foundation to benefit cancer research. I bought It from this foundation with the intent to keep it as part of my British car collection. However, y circumstances have changed and now I must offer it to the next lucky collector. It runs and drives as if it were new with that smooth silky Jaguar acceleration these cars are known for. It shifts wonderfully up and down through all gears and stops very well with no pull or fade. The interior still looks and smells new. The paint is still incredible with only a few very minor imperfections from the few miles it has traveled. I can find 3-4 small pinpoint type nicks. Likely stone chips. All the glass is like new. All the chrome is show quality.

The only items I know not to be originalare seen in the photos. It has a beautifully installed, ater type, steering wheel slightly smaller than the original and much better for driver comfort, he beautiful wood shift knoband upgraded stereo. Other than those items it appears to be all original as it was in 1969 when it left the factory. And of course the tires.

It was recently appraised by a professional appraiser, ertified Appraisers Guild of America, nbsp;and given a value range between $85,000-95,000. In this appraisal the appraiser rated it as a number 2 condition car. It was likely a number one car at the time the restoration was completed and has been driven enough to now be considered a number two. The appraisal and all receipts from the restoration are included in the sale.

The previous owner, ho had it restored, as too tall for the car. He knew he would never drive it in anything but perfect weather. For this reason hehad it restored without the soft top. E-types are not the most comfortable cars fordrivers over 6;3". The top literally gets in the way. He was too tall to drive it with the top up and when it is down it was impossible toput the seat all the way back to make room for his long legs.To remedy thishehad the bulkhead behind the seats restored to appear as though there was never a soft top on the car (see photos). He never intended to have it out in anything but perfect weather so this suited him better than fighting with the top. Like many people, e believed this car looked best without the top up or down. It is a beautiful car without the top and the finish around the rear bulkhead looks perfectly natural. Currently there is no soft top offered with this car.

I have tried toinclude as many high resolution photos as possible. Please look these over carefully as they are an important part of the description of this car. If you are lucky enough to live close to central Ohio please take the time to come inspect it in person. It is well worth the trip. If not I encourage you to have a third party inspect it for you and please call me with any questions and concerns prior to bidding on the car. The reserve is very reasonable and I fully intend for this car to sell. I have sold several vintage and exotic cars via Ebay and each sale resulted in a happy new owner of a great car that proved to be a great investment. I would buy any of them back for the price they sold. I expect this sale to be no different. The time to ask questions and complete inspections if prior to bidding. Your bid is a legally binding agreement to purchase this car at your bid. The final bid is a non conditional contract to complete the purchase. In other words please only bid once you are sure what this car is worth to you and you have the means and desire to complete the sale per my terms of sale.

This Jaguar needs absolutely nothing to show or drive. I encourage a thorough pre purchase inspection and will make the car available prior to your bidding.

I reserve the right to end this sale at any time for any reason. Over half the cars I've sold on EBay have sold prior to the end of the auction.

I require a $1,000 NON-REFUNDIBLE deposit within 24 hours after the sale has ended. The balance is due within 5 days via bank wire or in cash, can continue to store the car in a climate controlled facility for up to 30 days at no additional charge while shipping is arranged. I will not release the car until I have received and confirmed all funds. I have sold several cars to buyers throughout Europe and will assist in making the process as easy as possible.
