The E-Type on offer, chassis 1E14683, is one such example of the late open headlamp Series 1. This “OTS” or open two seater, is a matching numbers example finished from the factory in Pale Primrose Yellow over a black interior, with a black convertible top. It’s history file is rather impressive. The earliest record, a $200 receipt for general inspection, is dated 1982 from a service station in Myrtle Beach, SC. By the mid-1980s, records position chassis 1E14683 in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA in the hands of Mr. Phillip Wright. By 2005, a one Michael Kealey took possession of the car. Mr. Kealey, a Pennsylvania resident and longtime member of the Jaguar community with years of in period race experience, enlisted the services of well-known Jaguar Restoration Experts, Lippincott’s Garage, of Sinking Spring, PA, to complete a near total restoration. The then black E-Type was repainted it’s factory correct Primrose Yellow. It’s interior, less the carpets, was left largely untouched at this time. The drivetrain was cautiously rebuilt. Receipts and photographs of the restoration, which depict the investment and elevated quality of work carried out, are readily available for review.
