Description:

1958 Jaguar 3.4

The Old Oregon Motor Company presents: 1958 Jaguar MkI 3.4 Automatic. Gray/Black with Gray piping. US delivered. This 1958 Jaguar Mk I is powered by a 3.4L XK inline-six backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission, and was the subject of a 2010 refurbishment by its current owner. The work included a repaint in the present gray. The paint finish is of amateur quality with blotches and imperfections. Much of the paintwork is fine, but we included a photo of the worst area on the passenger B-pillar. The rear bumper was recently damaged and refinished in silver, while the front bumper and other exterior trim retain chrome or polished finishes. While the car is currently drivable around town, a recent transmission fault occurred where the car will not shift into top gear. Anticipating the need for a full rebuild, an expensive transmission kit was recently purchased from XK's Unlimitied and it is included in sale. The brake booster is said to be non-functional, although the car stops fine. Finally, while the wiper motor has been rebuilt, the switch is non-functional and requires replacement. Now, on the plus side, this car has always resided in a garage and has never had any rust. It is entirely matching numbers as indicated by the data plate and the Heritage Certificate. The cylinder head is painted in its correct light blue finish. The car features a special ordered black interior that was not generally available. The entire interior was replicated at a cost of $10K. The perfect trunk features a restored jack and complete tool kit. The underside is in excellent, clean, rust-free condition. Beautiful disc wheels have trim rings and are shod in nearly new Firestone wide white tires. Yes, this car has some needs, but it is being sold at a discount. Great opportunity...don't miss it! Please call Bill Penny at (503) 209-5510 to answer all your questions! 1958 Jaguar Mk1 3.4L Automatic, COMPLETE RESTORATION BUT REQUIRES SERVICE.

About Us The Old Oregon Motor Co. takes its name from the original Oregon Motor Company, a Ford dealership established in Portland in 1904. In 1916, the company moved into their permanent showroom located downtown at NW 8th Ave. and Davis Street. Today, the building is an art gallery and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Unlike its namesake, The Old Oregon Motor Co. does not have a retail location but rather is virtual in nature. Our cars can often be found on eBay under our user ID oregonmotorcompany. If you wish to view our inventory in person, showings are by appointment only. Our proprietor, Bill Penny, has been selling classic cars for over 30 years. He has worked as a salesman for some of the most prestigious dealerships on the West Coast. They include The Chequered Flag of Beverly Hills, Silicon Valley Auto Group, the Imperial Palace Auto Collection, Northwest Investment Cars, and Monte Shelton Motor Company. He also has been employed by Keith Martin's Sports Car Market magazine. The Old Oregon Motor Co. was established on January 1st, 2011 and is licensed, bonded, and insured in the State of Oregon under dealer's license number DA 3528. Below is a photo of the original Oregon Motor Company showroom of 1916 as it appears today with the Overland building behind it. Note the faded Overland signage on the defunct auto elevator shaft.
