The Jaguar XKE is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars of all time. During it's run there are three distinct generations, with the Series I Cars typically being the most popular and valuable. The legendary inline 6 derived from the engine that propelled Jaguar to multiple wins at the 4 hours of LeMans resides under the hood. Jaguar utilized an advanced suspension and frame design for the time. They built a monocoque tub for the passenger compartment, then have a tube frame front end which all of the engine and accessories are bolted to.

Presented here is a 1966 Jaguar XKE Coupe in Barnfind condition. The car has been sitting for a number of years and needs a full restoration. This example is actually a RHD model, quite rare, especially to find one in the United States. The car does roll steer and brake, but it was involved in an accident when the car was only a few years old. Some of the front passenger subframe is kinked and folded, however all of the mounting points for the front subframe are all straight and true. Included with the car will be original front subframe components to fix the damage. The interior is still very complete, with the entire dashboard, seats, center console, and rear floor components still intact. Also included with the car are many original components to make it a complete car. A front hood, pair of fenders, and many other small parts will be included with the car. This is a rare opportunity to find a RHD model Series I XKE Coupe in the United States.

The engine and drivetrain are very complete. The engine is still sporting its original set of SU Carburetors. Also still attached to the engine are all of the accessories, including the ignition system. The firewall is still completely built out with all of it's small components, and the gearbox seems to shift through the gears nicely. There is still a driveshaft connecting the gearbox to the differential, all in great condition. This is a very complete car that has not been robbed of parts over the years, which makes it a great candidate for a restoration.

History:

Included are many documents that go along the car dating all the way back to 1968. Based on what we have gathered the car was bought by a US Army Sergeantnew in Germany. The car was wrecked in Germany in 1968, then later shipped back to the United States in March of 1969. The last time this car was driven was before it was wrecked in Germany, which leads us to believe the 24,555 miles indicated on the odometer are in fact original. Unfortunately the car has sat in a wrecked state since. many of the documents are from Jaguar Coventry regarding the original owner trying to get parts to repair the car. The car was sold so the second owner sometime in the late 70s or early 80s, and remained with him until it was acquired by us earlier this year.

Included with the car are a pair of replacement sub-frames that are not bent. Also included are a pair of doors that are very straight since the ones on the car are quite mangled.
