I AM REDUCING THE SIZE OF MY BRITISH CAR COLLECTION, SO THIS IS A RELUCTANT SALE -
1969 Jaguar e-Type/ XKE, Convertible Roadster, Series 2, 4.2 Liter, 6-Cylinder, Manual
I recently purchased this car after being in a dry/ heated storage facility for over 35 yearsThis is a "Running Driving Project Car"Since purchasing this car I have had extensive work completed on it to make it roadworthy again and safe to drive. This is includes may new parts and service work completed. I estimate that the total bill for the work completed to date to be $12,000Below is a list of the work completed on this car:
Fuel tank removed, cleaned, coated and refittedNew fuel float switch installedNew fuel PumpNew Fuel PumpNew fuel line and hosesCarbs dismantle cleaned, new rebuild kits installed and tunedCarb linkages and inlet manifold damper linkages remove /cleaned and replacedRadiator removed, re-cored, refurbished and installedNew Water PumpAll hoses replacedNew ThermostatNew Master Brake CylinderFront Calipers RebuiltNew Stainless Steel Braded Hoses and Brake LinesNew brake padsNew reservoir bottlesNew Master Clutch CylinderNew Clutch LinesClutch AdjustmentsNew Track Rod EndsNew Track Rod End Rubber BellowsNew Front Wheel RotorsNew AlternatorNew Distributor Cap, Rotor, Points and CondenserNew HT leadsNew Battery
I may have forgotten to list some items
Not shown in the photographs- Last week I had 4 new Universal Brand White Wall Tires fitted complete with Inner Tubes and balancing the total cost was over $750
The car runs, drives, shifts, steers and stops great, the engine purrsIt comes complete with a hard top, tonnau, top cover factory knock-off tool and jack
The paint work has scratches and dents and will eventually need a full-resprayThe leather interior, convertible top, top cover and tonnau are usable but need to be replaced. The battery was left in the car and acid leakage caused some damage locally to the battery tray, bulk head and sill. The battery tray was cut out and replaced, the corrosion to the bulkhead and sill is light and has not been replace, I planned to address these areas when the car is fully restored / resprayed
The floor boards and trunk are solid, but it looks like someone jacked the car up using the floor boards, they should hammer back down quite easily. There is zero rust on the floor pans and trunk, the factory paint is still in tact
The independent rear suspension/ rear brakes and hand brake work adequately but have not been rebuilt. I was saving this job until I had the car resprayed
I want to re-iterate that this is a running driving, project car.....but also a great opportunity for someone to purchase a solid original low mileage Jaguar e-type convertible at an affordable price
I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL OF THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED DURING MY OWNERSHIP
