Description:

1984 Jaguar XJ6

Most of you have seen this car posted before. Fact is that is people bid and do not follow through. The last two auctions the wining bid was $5,000. The Last Bider’s excuse last was and I quote: I am a frequent seller, so I share the pain of telling you that there's been a change in my circumstances, and I can't go ahead with the transaction (I had enthusiastically bought another car, forgetting that I had the starting bid in on yours - it honestly never occurred to me that I'd win your car with a 5k bid).

I personal belief is: I don’t really think he did purchase another car! Point being don’t bib unless you WANT the car. In all truthfulness the market only bears this kind of price. It is truly a-shame but this car is listed for $1.25 a pound, thats cheaper than a pound of hamburger. This car is is not Hamburger but in fact Porterhouse Steak. There are no mechanical issues although there a few body flaws which are shown. All of which could be repaired at a low cost. This car runs and drives perfectly. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, upon full inspection with test drive (AT MY HOME) if not fully satisfied ALL your monies will be fully refunded. When the car leaves my property the car is your responsibility. Car being sold as is, where it is, with no warranty. Buyers must handle all shipping arrangements, taxes, and or customs at their own expense.

I purchased this car 26 years ago for $7995.00 with 92,865 miles on her. It has been restored 24 years ago milage then was 103,958 at a cost of $25,000 most in parts and material. I do all my own work adding personal upgrades including the interior, paint and any fabrication. I personal know this car inside and out not like most of these listed on E-bay. If you have any questions please e-mail at whybe50@msn.com or call 610-248-7497.

She has 120,345 miles on her now of which 100+ as been put on this past month. That is 16,387 miles on a total restoration.

The engine was rebuilt replacing everything from pistons to valve seats including a new high torque high starter and a Deutsch water proof engine connector. The trans was a factory rebuilt when car was purchased. The front and rear suspension was also re- built with new everything. Fuel tanks were replaced along with sending units and tee the tanks together with John’s fuel tank kit. All parts being purchased from local dealers or Jaguar catalogs. Back then all parts were available and no expenses were spared.

Paint was also done on a rust free body striping it to bear metal and removing all doors, hood and trunk. It was finish to its original painting color in single stage PPG acrylic enamel.

During re-assembly all rubber seals were replaced. Most chrome piece were replaced with new OEM parts.

Red leather interior was re-upholster using a high grade cloth material to factory pattern. Stitching was done to eliminate prone stitch ripping as all XJ6 had on their leather interiors. I know this is a draw back to Jaguar enthusiast. In my opinion the Cloth makes the car feels warmer and much classer. Leather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. This is why the new cars of today have heated and cooled seats! The Wood Dash was stripped re-surfacing it with a PPG automotive urethane clear. Dash pad was replaced with a factory OEM pad. The large stock steering wheel was replaced with a smaller factory Mustang wheel that was leather rap and retaining a factory Jaguar logo. Other personal up-grades were made for drivers comfort including Day-Time running lights (safely), Rear Window De-fogger (blower type), Third Brake Light (safely), Fuel Shut Off Switch (security purpose), Up-Graded Interior Lighting (front and rear), Custom Center Ski Slop with Cup Holders and Extra Switches, Rubberized Door Sills with Factory Jaguar Logos, Interior Factory Outside Air Vents from Series Two XJ6, Passenger Power seat.
