Restoration completed in December 2017. Car now has only 50 test miles driven since the restoration. No expense was spared in this correct and proper restoration. The craftsmanship is superb as well as the fit and finish. Perfection was the goal in restoring this original numbers matching E-Type Roadster and the result is stunning. This extraordinary E type is now ready for award winning competition. In the expert restoration process the vehicle was evaluated, inspected, photographed, then, disassembled, stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, with all body parts fitted to the car as well as the chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base and clear coat, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish seen today. Car received a new windshield and door glass. All mechanical systems and components were rebuilt, serviced, restored or replaced as needed including the engine and transmission being rebuilt back to factory specifications and the rear end and suspension completed to superior standards. All other systems such as the electrical system, hydraulic system, cooling system and fuel system were restored or replaced and the car received all new wire harness, new rubber, and grommets. The 3.8 engine rebuilt to factory specifications hot tanking and line boring, magnaflexing including all of its machining and calibration with new pistons, rings, bearings, new water pump and machining the crank. Also installed were new valves, guides, seals, timing chain, head completely rebuilt, restoring and rebuilding the carburetors, new clutch system, machining the fly wheel, all new hydraulic system, new u joints installed and balancing the drive shaft, new shocks front and rear, rebuilt fuel pump. Restored the rear end all its components and rebuilt and calibrated the pumpkin. Completely rebuilt the transmission All electrical components gone through including the gauges, knobs, switches all restored, rescreened or replaced as needed. The car received a new correct exhaust system, new battery, the gas tank was hot tanked, painted, and epoxy sealed, and a brand-new alloy radiator was installed. All bright work was re-plated. This vehicle sits on 6 inch tires and has a one-inch smaller steering wheel for better handling. It has a Blaupunkt radio. The top bows and seat frames were restored. The car received a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by expert upholstery craftsmen. This is a spectacular color combo, a wonderful car that is for the discerning Jaguar collector. Accompanying the vehicle are important additional original restored components including restored original coils, restored original windshield wiper motor, restored original steering wheel, restored original fan blade, restored original tool kit & jack.
