1976 Jaguar XJ12C *Original~Rare~Unmolested~Rust Free~CA Car*

For your consideration, we have a stunningly original, one owner, accident and rust free 1976 Jaguar XJ12C. More commonly referred to as a Jaguar V12 pillarless coupe this is an exquisite example of a very rare Jaguar, only 1,855 V12 coupes were ever produced and in 1976 only 633 coupes were made available. The XJ12C is thought to be the most superb car ever made by Jaguar, 2nd only to the notorious and beloved XKE series. It is shocking to me that more of these cars weren't produced as the style of this car is absolutely stunning and coupled with the 5.3 litre engine and understated elegance of the pillarless windows it is just a magnificent creature.

This V12 Coupe was purchased by the current owner from Newport Imports in Southern California back in the late 70's. Since its acquisition it had resided the majority of its life in California, however the past couple years this Jaguar has lived in a garage in Idaho where it is currently titled and registered. Sparingly driven throughout the years and always garage kept this car is also said to be original miles; considering the immaculate state that it's in I would absolutelybelieve this to be true.

Though many of these coupes have fallen victim to irreparable rust damage or mechanical issues that have left them to become parts cars this pillarless coupe remains standing strong and the underside of the car is so clean it's incredible.

Mechanically this car is sound, it runs, drives and brakes very nicely. It has recently been serviced and equipped with an electronic ignition unit, a new sports coil, spark plugs, and has had an oil and filter change. The gas tanks were also flushed out and replenished with fresh gas as it had been sitting in a garage in Idaho for the past few years so it wasn't worth the risk to run potentially compromised gasoline through the fuel injectors.

The exterior is original old English white in color with an attractive red pin stripe down the sides. The black vinyl top is excellent. The chrome bumpers are paired with the American styled rubber bumpers that were added to the front to comply with US collision standards. All the chrome trim has plenty of shine and the front grille is excellent and complete with its gold V12 center emblem. This coupe sits on 4 good All Season Michelin tires with its original Jaguar crested hub caps.

The interior is original biscuit leather upholstery and original tan carpeting throughout. The driver's seat is more worn than the others with a headrest that looks a bit squished, but truly considering the cars age it is absolutely amazing that it has been so well kept. The tan carpeting is also complete and in very good condition. The door panels aren't saggy and all interior compartments and ash trays are tidy. The headliner is sagging down a bit but not stained or torn in any place. The dash is excellent without cracks and includes all original gauges. The glass is clear and unscratched with the exception of a small crack in the windshield on the drivers' side (see picture).

All interior electrical including the gauges are functioning with the exception of the A/C, but who needs A/C when you have the pillarless windows that just open the car up beautifully with plenty of ventilation to be had.

Overall this XJ12C is a solid car that will surely turn heads and attract a lot of attention from Jaguar enthusiasts. It's like driving the best kept secret Jaguar ever made, and it can be yours to enjoy for years to come. If you are looking for a car to invest in that has the likelihood to appreciate over time as there are so few of these cars left in this condition then don't hesitate and bid to win this V12 coupe. As always, I would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible. Please also note that we reserve the right to end this auction early should we receive an offer we can't refuse.
