The car has only some 78K original miles and is an original southern California owner's car which is still titled in its original owner's name with an California 'Pink Slip' showing an original sales date of 1/09/1970! The car was serviced for many years at 'Frank McLain & Sons'; a renown classic Rolls Royce, Bentley and Jaguar independent specialist of Encino, California, who has been in business in the same location for some 40 years, and who completed extensive preventive maintenance over the years including a recent full service for piece of mind turn key ready driving today!
The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free! The car has it's original paint with obviously therefore no signs of any accidents of any kind with an extraordinarily straight body with absolutely no rust. This striking original 'Sable' color paint is in exceptionally fine condition with virtually no noticeable flaws and the car looks extremely impressive with a lovely all original 'Tan' leather interior which is also in complete and all original condition. The original door panels, headliner, dashboard and carpets all in very fine condition with no flaws. The chrome is all very good and straight with only extremely minor and quite acceptable pitting for its age. The car has it's original chrome wire wheels and it's original chrome spare wire wheel and original knock off mallet and jack are still located unopened until our photograph shoot in the trunk compartment.
The Series II XKE E-Type Jaguar was only built between the years 1969-71 and there were only 4,855 of these highly desirable FHC (Fixed Head Coupes) built, they are therefore far rarer than the 8,628 OTS (Open Two Seaters) built or the 5,326 Longer Wheel Base (9") and far less desirable 2+2 coupes. It is noteworthy that in the final Series III incarnation of the model there were no FHC built at all but some 7,990 OTS and 7,297 2+2's. Therefore the Series II FHC Coupes are some of the rarest and most collectible E-Type Jaguars available of this legendary marque.
This is therefore an extremely rare opportunity to own a very rare all original surviving example of an original southern California family owned all stock unmodified 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2L 2 seater coupe (not 2+2) with factory working air conditioning in exceptionally fine condition throughout being offered as a wonderful opportunity for the serious Jaguar collector or indeed for any British classic car lover!
