Timing was perfect as International just introduced the all new K-series line of trucks .These were among the handsomest trucks the company ever built and they proved to be extremely popular. The response was well-earned because the new K-series trucks were real beauties, both aesthetically and engineering-wise. Like every other American vehicle manufacturer in 1941, International-Harvester saw its civilian production switch to military production. This ’41 International K3 one-ton pickup truck is one of only 10,814 examples made prior to Pearl Harbor and very few good examples of the K3 are still available today. We are proud to offer this very original and correct International K3 here at Motoexotica Classic Cars! This numbers matching original tuck comes from a long time International collector in Kentucky and comes equipped with some great and hard to find options such as the optional larger Green Diamond 214 CID inline six, optional pop out v-windshield, single wiper, driver visor, King-Bee made in Chicago drivers mirror, chrome front bumper, full chrome grill wings, Anthes Force road flairs with bed box and the most unique piece that is a included is a genuine IH brass 1QT Pump Fire Extinguisher (IH# 995 117 R1) which was certified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc of Chicago (#E728037). Finished in Harvester Red over black fenders, the paint and trim are in overall very good order with some minor imperfections. The truck has straight and solid bodywork, the engine bay is very tidy, and the cargo area of the rare original International 8.5ft bed (#HFF-81/2-2247) is also in very good order and still retains its original model tag. International K3’s were usually shipped from the factory without a bed or had a bed manufactured by Mack, International produced beds are extremely hard to find as many trucks did not leave the factory with them. This Binder rolls on Monarch UM R1R tires. Each tire is mounted on steel wheels with red beauty rings and correct chrome International center caps. The wheels are in very good order while the tires show in good shape but are older.Under the hood is the optional original Green Diamond 214 CID inline six-cylinder engine (Code: G RD 214 #4730) with a correct Zenith downdraft carburetor. It is mated to a three-speed manual transmission (#K31290) and a 4.18:1 rear end (#1965 S5211). Compared to the K-1 and K-2 models, the K-3 has a heavier frame, larger brakes, and rear axles supported by two roller bearings on a free-floating rear end. The K-3 had two engines to choose from, the standard Green Diamond 175 CID and the optional Green Diamond 214 CID. Inside, the truck’s black bench seat is in great shape with its updated upholstery and red piping. The black headliner and matching, three-spoke steering wheel are in good order, while the red metal instrument panel and inner door liners are all in good, original shape but the horn, wiper, speedometer and fuel gauge are inoperable. If you’re looking for one of the best looking classic trucks built by America or need that hard to find K-3 for your International truck collection or even to use it to perform some real work, you could hardly go wrong with this old Binder from just before World War II.
