How about a shop truck? MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1968 International C-series half-ton Fleetside pickup truck optioned with power steering, power brakes, automatic and SV V8 engine. Made in International’s Springfield, Ohio factory, this truck was originally purchased in dry Arizona and has been custom lowered with an attractive stance. Wearing a cream-colored exterior and a neutral vinyl interior, this truck shows a nice patina. Both doors wear a livery of Honolulu Speed Shop, established 1968.The truck’s bodywork is straight, the engine bay is tidy, the paint is in good, original shape while the cargo area’s patina is a level more wear than that of the rest of the body. There’s a flat black front bumper and a silver corrugated metal rear bumper. This truck rides on older wide whitewall tires, size 205/70R15 at every corner and each tire is mounted on red steelies without wheel covers. It has a 118-inch wheelbase and a 4,200 GVWR.Under the hood is International’s Comanche 266 CID V-8 engine (code SV-266). Nineteen sixty-eight was the last model year for this V-8. The motor is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features include power steering and power brakes.Inside, a hula doll, a bamboo headliner and a Mexican blanket over the bench seat set the surfing theme. The bench seat, black floor mats, two-spoke steering wheel and the rest of the interior are all in good, original order. Whimsical touches include a die atop the radio aerial and four more on the tire valve caps. Completing the interior are a column-mounted shift and the truck’s original factory AM radio but the horn is inoperable.Truck competition to this International in 1968 included Chevrolet’s C10, Dodge’s D100, Ford’s F100, GMC’s C10 and Jeep’s Gladiator pickup trucks. If this truck appeals to you as is, it will turn heads and start conversations at any cruise night or car show it attends. Alternatively, you could use it as the foundation for something different – keep it as is as shop truck, or it could be the basis for a camper or a drag truck.
