1972 International Harvester Scout

Scouts lead the way. This beautiful vintage 1972 International Harvester Scout II 4x4 shows 64,746 miles and is powered by the very desirable IH 345 V8 mated to a 4 speed manual. The restoration of this Scout included most all surfaces. https://youtu.be/lemN0rwIOZ8 This gorgeous Harvester red 72 Scout II was purchased out of New Mexico and then professionally and tastefully restored by the previous owner. The factory correct red paint color is visually stunning, with a show quality shine beyond anything available in 1972. The white top is super nice and removable if so desired. The headlights, taillights and side markers are also like new. The chrome mirrors are new and beautiful. The chrome bumpers and silver grill are very nice factory original. This Scout II also has all of the correct factory emblems for the model year 1972 which is important to many collectors. The interior is equally as nice. The Scout still has all of it's original knobs, switches and gauges to preserve that factory look while adding a new windshield, new rubber moldings, new upholstery, new belts, new carpet, a roll bar, a new rear cargo mat and a modern Alpine audio system with Bluetooth capability for cruising enjoyment. The engine and engine bay presents as a high quality re-build with most every part new or upgraded. New belts, hoses, fuel pump, new gas tank, new water pump, new radiator with electric fan, new battery, aluminum intake, new wiring, etc. there are no leaks or fluids dripping on my garage floor. The engine was further upgraded with an FITech Go Street 400 programmable and self regulating fuel injection system to increase the reliability and fuel economy. Additional upgrades included chassis improvements like a new 4" Rough Country lift with Rancho shocks, a steer straight frame brace and a front disc brake upgrade. Sitting on new American Racing Ansen 17" wheels with brand new LT265 /70R17 tires, the ride and stance is very nice. Everything about this Scout is just right and I hope that you'll love it as I do. This Scout II has been displayed at several summer cruise In events in 2018 and a few cars and coffee events; the Scout is always very popular and very well received. It's so unique that when I pull in people just naturally want to look at it. Making its debut in late 1960, the Scout set the stage for 4-wheel drive utility vehicles of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, and today enjoys cult-status among automotive and truck enthusiasts. Author Michael Banks documents the success story of the Scout in his book, International Harvester Scout: The Complete Illustrated History Illustrated. I have a clean title, a copy of the factory line set ticket, the original IH service manual and parts manual and a DOL approved 1972 WA State historic license plate. There is also several pages of itemized restoration notes. A walk around video and engine bay video can be emailed to you upon request. Old Scouts, Broncos, Jeeps and Blazers are red hot. Several TV shows are starting to feature the Scout due to its rarity and it's classic good looks. http://bestride.com/research/buyers-guide/8-1970s-and-1980s-suvs-to-buy-right-now.
