1970 International Harvester Scout

I have owned this Scout for years and have done a lot of work to make it nicer. When I first got it the body was as it is today but it had some wiring short out so I installed a new Painless wiring system into it which means everything is now on it's own fuse and the turn signals have better relays. The truck had an International 304 V8 and non-synchro three speed when I got it and I put in a low mile 345 V8 with fully synchro four speed that I got Anything Scout out of one of their Chevrolet conversion projects. I also had new exhaust done at this time. The truck had been converted to power steering from a later Scout when I got it and I left that in place on the new engine. The interior floor, underside of hardtop, and bed of the truck have been coated in bed liner for easy cleanup and to protect them.
I had the seats recovered and I put in Speed Hut instruments in the style that most closely matches the stock instruments. The speedometer works off a GPS antenna so it is always accurate no matter the tire size or gear ration. The truck has 33x10.50R15 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires but they do rub slightly in the back if you take a corner fast enough. The truck drives down the interstate at 80 mph at a nice RPM and could go a lot faster.
I had both factory steel fuel tanks restored by Dripeze Gas Tank Restoration which gives them a lifetime warranty on leaks and rust. Both tank also have new fuel sender in them. I put a new fuel selector valve in to select which fuel tank you want to run off but I currently have it bypassed so it draws from both tanks at one time giving it more range.
The truck has the 2.5" Suspension Lift Kit from Anything Scout installed as well as their Premium HD Shackles. The headlights are LED from TruckLite and are very bright, they are made from a bulletproof material and have a nice aluminum rear housing. These are the same lights used by the military.
The radio works great and I hid two new Alpine speakers behind the original radio grill above the radio.
I have put about 1000 miles on the truck in it's current configuration.
The good: Runs great, fast enough to drive on the Interstate, lights very bright, looks and sounds cool!
The bad: Tires rub a bit around corners, doors can need slammed if windows are up (because of the weather strip), fuel gauge inaccurate on passenger side tank (I leave it set to drivers side)
