Description:

1964 International Harvester Other Base

As many of these vehicles go, I will not find the time to finish the redo on this vehicle. Time---money and a 1968 Travelall have gotten in my way and I would rather see this go to someone who will appreciate what it is and finish it off.
I found this parked in a snow bank about 5 or six years ago. Had been used as a plow truck for a local resort in my area-----hence the home brew snow plow bracket on the front end. The engine compartment/dash/cab had been scorched with wiring burn. Harness almost completely gone, so they just parked it and left it.
I finagled a start/run circuit into the truck and drove it about 121 miles to my house where it lived on jack stands for a number of years.
First, I gutted the wiring completely and put in a 21 circuit harness. NOT ALL THAT GREAT OF A DECISION. However, if you want electric windows or USB port I believe there is an empty circuit waiting for you. Therefore---while the wiring suits my needs for now I am sure someone would rather finish it up a lot nicer.
Engine compartment sports dual batteries ---I am sure that was due to the snow plow. However the welding appears to have been done with a coat hanger and underpowered 110V welder. Works, but not all that pretty.
There is one factory under body Travelette fuel tank (passenger side) which has been sealed with POR 15 and does not appear to leak. Another tank was added by previous owner in the bed of the truck and both tanks are plumbed to switch. Neither tank works with fuel gauge, although there is a new sender in the regular factory tank.
As the pictures indicate this vehicle will definitely haul a load of wood, however it is not a daily driver around town. Front brakes have been reworked with exception of rubber brake lines and I have a pair of them on the garage work bench.
All four doors will require hinge/latch work. The driver door has new hinge pins this spring, but is closed with the "swing-arm-duct-tape" apparatus shown in pictures.
While engine runs in the 180 to 200 degree range, please note that the filler neck on the radiator is mostly held on with JB weld.
Biggest rust area is the driver side floor----should definitely be replaced soon.
I understand that the steps built into the bed are factory, however they have EZSTEP imprinted on them.
Headliner new, as is the box build in back seat for the dog to ride on. The front seats are buckets with home made brackets.
All windows work, with the obligatory International cracked windshield thrown in for good measure.
On and on I could go, but would rather interested parties question me and I will fill in where necessary.
As the listing says----do not be afraid to submit an offer.
