Description:

1953 International Harvester Metro

Up for auction is a 1953 International Harvester Metro Step Van. This is the very popular shorty version and its' ready to cruise. How many of these have you seen on the road and/or finished and for sale? This is a truly unique vehicle and your sure to be the talk of the cruise or car show when you pull in with this! Vehicle was just recently driven to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY (about a 170 mile round trip) via Interstate with no issues whatsoever. This van would make a great tailgate cruiser or promotional vehicle for your company! Why not use it to make deliveries! This vehicle was used in the 1960s/1970s by the Loeb's for their Laundry and Dry Cleaning business as can be seen from what remains of the original logo on the side of the van. The back 2/3 of the frame is the original and front 1/3 is from an S10. We took the body off the frame of this vehicle and built new cross body supports and installed new metal for the step wells on both sides of the vehicle. We also fixed several rusted out/tears on the vehicle and blended the patina. Van has many character marks which remain visible many of which are untouched. LS3 Engine and 4l60e transmission push it down the road. Fuel Injection and Fuel Econony! 4-Way Airride lets you set it in the weeds.
