1929 International Harvester Other

This truck was a gift to my father in 1990, and spent the last 27 years garaged and cared for. It had pride of place in Homecoming and Christmas parades for many years, and is truly a special truck in great condition.

The Model S-24 trucks emerged in 1926. A 3-speed transmission was standard equipment. The International Six Special, built during 1928 and 1929, ushered in a new IH truck design - the two speed axle. Now the three-speed transmission & dual range axle permitted 6 forward speeds to handle any situation from deep rutted country roads to high speed driving on paved streets & highways. The two-speed axle, introduced on the International Six Speed Special was an industry "first."

The truck is missing a speedometer which was taken by an unscrupulous mechanic, but runs well, andwas recently serviced from stem to stern. The exact mileage is unknown due to the missing speedometer.
