Price: - Item location: Carlsbad, California, United States
Description:

1953 International Harvester R120

You are bidding on an International R120 Stake bed truck. The California title says it is a 1946 model, however several experts in the field have assured me that this truck is actually a 1953 model! Clerical error somewhere in it's history I am sure. Nothing that cannot be corrected. I do not believe it detracts from its value. NADA values this truck in "Average" condition at $12,900! This truck starts right up!! Runs and drives!! I purchased it at an estate auction. It currently has California title and is registered until 10/31/2016. Truck appears to have been restored at some point during its lifetime. I have no idea if mileage is accurate. Tons of fun to drive! Great attention getter! SOLD "AS IS"!

Paint: Appears to have been repainted some time ago. Still has some shine left, but is flaking in a couple of areas. Flat spots in others. All in all it shows very well for a 70 year old vehicle!! Little bit of rust around the windshield. No perforation. No rust any where else.
Engine: Motor starts right up! No clatter or knocking. Idles a bit high by modern standards. I have had the truck up to 50 MPH!
Transmission: Both the transmission and clutch are good. First gear is a very low granny gear, so easier to start off in second. Slow shifting rewards no grinding at all.
Brakes: About 70% life left in the "shoes". (These are drum brakes!). Heavy foot is required.

Tires: Tireshave a good 70% worth of tread left.
All electrical in working condition. This truck is street legal. No power steering or brakes back then, but all in all a very tough little truck!

***California Title says it is a 1946 model. Several Ebay watchers have brought to my attention that this truck is NOT a 1946, but a 1953 model. I am sure this is a typo that occurred at some point but I do not believe that it detracts from the value of this truck.
