1979 International Harvester Scout

We will be adding more pictures of interior and engine this weekend.
This was a one owner Scout before Iacquiredit from the Family of the original owner. This was purchased new from Woods Brother Implement in Hobson Montana for the Grand Daughter of an elderly cattle ranch owner, for her to drive him around the ranch and occasionally to town, but they also had other ranch pickups and cars for most of the work and trips to town. This was never used to tow anything or go four wheeling in the hills. It spent most of it's winter nights in the garage, and that's where it was when the lady past away and left it to her son, who was living out of state and didn't really need it so I purchased it. It had set in the garage for about two years after her death and so I had thecarburetorrebuilt. This has chrome bumpers, front disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, floor shift automatic, this was a somewhat fancy model. This has bucket seats, and a console in the middle. I believe this to be the 304 V-8 with the 727 transmission. It does have dents, as you can see in the pictures. It was often parked around cattle and sometimes she hit a fence post now and then, BUT I can not find ANY rust through or "cancer" in this at all. I have looked up under the fender wells and all around, and this appears to be pretty much RUST FREE, except very light surface rust on the bare frame and parts underneath. It had a light coat of undercoating and a lot of it is dry and crisp, and when you flake a small piece off underneath it still shows the bright factory paint!! Even where they didn't put undercoating, you can still see the paint. This is one very solid truck that will not require a bunch of rust repair!! The drivers front seat is torn, could be fixed without recovering the entire seat. The glass is all good with one small rock chip in the right side of front windshield, not very noticeable. The tires are in very good shap, I would say they were almost new just before she quit driving it. The roof does come off these in case you didn't know. Door panel edges are shriveled up from the long dry summer heat, and the grille is broken. I see replacements often on eBay, but I didn't want to start changing things, I'll leave that up to the new owner to play around with it. By the way, this was always her second car, she almost always had a pretty late model "go to town" car, and that explains the low mileage. You can call me in the evenings, four zero six 538 six six six six. If you don't have at least a five plus feed back score call first or don't bother to bid, tired of the scammers who don't pay. This is a VERY solid rig, never been driven on salted roads as Montana never salted the roads in our area, and we are a high desert are with only about 12 inches of precipitation a YEAR. I know someone who can deliver it to you for a reasonable price, call me and I'll ask him for a quote. We do have clear title, in my name. .. Thanks for checking it out. Tim, four zero six 538- six six six si, I can't here the phone when working, welding or grinding, so evenings are best, keep trying!!!
