1968 GMC GMC C1500

I am selling this truck for my Uncle who has become ill with cancer. This truck was built with his every intention to keep it but sadly that can not happen now. The truck is a 1968 GMC 1/2 ton short bed truck. It's an original short bed not one that was cut down from long bed. I was personally involved with this build on this truck and no expense was spared. The truck is an original 1968 GMC. My uncle liked the way the 67s looked so he installed a 67 GMC grill, front fenders and bedsides. He is a huge fan of In line 6 engines so that is what was rebuilt and installed in it. Being an old school hot rodder he installed and Offenhauser dual 2 barrel carburetor intake, with matching Weber carburetors, a set of headers and custom dual exhaust. This truck has a great functioning factory 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive that still smoothlyshifts from the column. It also has power brakes (disk front, drum rear), Red Head Quick Ratio power steering, Dana 44 rear end with 3.73 gears.Options include factory buddy buckets, factory 6 cylinder tachometer. It has an original steering wheel with the deluxe GMC horn button.During it's restoration we installed all new M&H wiring, all new electrical switches, carpet and upholstery.A Gaylord hard tonneau cover was installed and painted to match. It has an Early Classics hidden trailer hitch, a hide away (crank up) spare tire. All weatherstrip is new lifetime guaranteed "Precision" brand. A new windshield was installed and a new CR Laurence rear window slider. The Engine is a rebuilt 250 IL6, 3 speed transmission, overdrive and rear end were rebuilt too. A new driveshaft made for it by Capitol Driveshaft, new custom dual exhaust by Ness's Autocrafters. The truck has been lowered 4 1/2" in the front and 6" in the rear. The front has 2 1/2" drop spindles with disk brake conversion and 2" lowering springs. The rear was achievedwith an Axle flip kit and new lowering rear leaf springs. As you can see, my Uncle made many improvements to the truck and probably some that I have forgotten about.
