1968 GMC K1500 stock short bed fleet side pickup. Runs and Drives!Mileage listed is the amount of miles on the current engine. Odometer reads ~400 miles because it was replaced. Original odometer read 46k miles. Seafoam green original color. Flat OD green paint to prevent surface rust on truck body. Original grill, front fenders, and hood were replaced with those from a '68 K2500. ORIGINAL CAB CORNERS! Seriously solid rust free cab corners and rocker panels. Truck was originally used as a farm grease truck, so the underside was caked with grease until 2013 which didn't allow rust to form.
It sat in a barn, covered with a tarp since 1985 when the original straight 6 seized. In 2013, it was pulled out of the barn to get fixed. Every single wire has been replaced.NEW 350ci crate engine with Edelbrock Performer intake and a 650 CFM Quadrajet carburetor on top. New HEI ignition and plug wires. K&N Re-usable air intake filter. New water pump and mechanical fuel pump. New fuel tank pick-up filter. Horn switch located on dash.Painless Performance complete 18 fuse, 29 circuit wiring harness with labeled wires.New seat upholstery, glove box, floor mats, sound deadening material, dash pad, speedometer, door/window handles, dome light, window gaskets, and water temp gauge.New side mirrors, door locks, fuel filler cap, lights, and custom bumpers.New radiator, battery, and tray. New internally regulated alternator, windshield washer reservoir and pump. New windshield wiper arms, assembly, and motor. New electric fan with temperature controller. Custom Jack Daniels radiator overflow. 2.5" - 3" exhaust with USA made 40 Series Flowmaster muffler. Manual brakes and steering.
Front axle replaced with one from a 1975 Suburban. New disk brake calipers up front. Refurbished drum brakes in the rear. New Skyjacker flexible brake lines front/rear with new hard lines in the rear. Functional E-Brake. Skyjacker 4"lift kit with steering linkage. (Front leafs and rear blocks) Custom transmission cross member and driveshaft to accommodate the spare 2WD 4-speed manual transmission. Original transmission had metal flakes in the gear oil, so it was pulled with the transfer case. (Original Trans/transfer case included with the pickup. Problem has not been diagnosed.) Both transmissions are Muncie (CH465). New 16x10.5 Steel wheels and 285/75R16 Mastercraft AXT 10ply tires with less than 1000 miles on them. Valid Smog exempt Ca. Registration and title. Registered through Feb. 2020.
Aluminum bed tool box included. Lots of extra parts as well as some originals included. Rare truck is ready for your finishing touches!
