1954 GMC Other

I'm selling my 1954 GMC cabover project. If you want to build a COE, this is the cleanest body you'll find. I searched a long time for the best one I could get to start this project.

The cab has been chopped four inches and was done well. The doors line up great and they open and close well. The only rust I found on the whole body when I started stripping it were a few small holes in the lower cab corners so I put patch panels in. There is no cancer anywhere on this body. And there is no bondo or filler anywhere either. It has all been stripped. The panels you see with primer have been painted on bare metal just to combat the surface rust while I was doing the metal work. There is a light coat of surface rust on the roof that will scuff off easily with a Scotchbrite pad. The holes in the fenders and firewall have all been filled.

I have a lot of parts for this project. I bought a whole separate cab just to have all the metal pieces and contours for the roof and door tops when I chopped it. There's window regulators, garnish moldings, a few sets of the metal trim that goes in the window rubber - one is stainless. I have an extra grill along with the chrome one you see. There is a good steering box, a good seat, a really nice gas tank, and a radiator that held water, but you may want to have it cleaned out to be safe. I have gauges and some lights and also the metal pieces for the steps.

The body is sitting on the original subframe. I built a rolling cart off of that so it can roll around easy to work on.

The picture you see of the rolling truck is what it looked like when I bought it. The whole chassis from that picture was scrapped because it was super heavy and unusable.

I have a clear Kansas title for it, but on the title it had been registered as a 1949 because of the motor that was installed.

Do a google search for 'Max Grundy COE' to see how it will look when it's finished.

Email me if you would like to come see it or have any questions.

The dimensions for the body are: 76" wide, 71" tall, and 78" from the headlights to the rear of the cab.
