1953 GMC Other1953 GMC 3100 three window built on the original frame. This is an original red patina colored truck. The only part of the truck that was left untouched is the exterior metal.
The frame was blasted and then boxed in for strength, the front suspension was updated to a mustang 2 style with two inch drop spindles. The rear suspension was updated to a complete TCI leaf kit.
The fuel tank was converted to a mustang style tank with a16 Gallon Capacity and a internal Walbro255/lph fuel pump and sending unit.
The braking system is a under floor power brake setup with 4 wheel disc brakes.
The engine is a Chevrolet LS 5.3 with a Trick Flow camDuration 285/292, Lift .560/.560, Lobe Sep. 114, Pac 1218 valve springs, Holley sniper EFI intake, 92mm throttle body and 30lb LS1 injectors.
The short block has the original 140,000 miles crank, rods and pistons. The additional engine parts have all been replace with brand new items. Oil pan, water pump, alternator, timing chain, lifters, cyl head bolts, valve seals and a complete Felpro engine gasket and seal kit.
The transmission is a 4L60E with overdrive, the transmission was serviced and a new custom drive shaft was built to connect the drive train to a Chevrolet 10 bolt rear with a Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differentials.
The exhaust manifolds are Hookers LS cast design that run into a Y-pipe, then through a 40 series flowmaster muffler, out to a single 2.5 passenger side rear exit tip.
A complete 15 circuit wiring harness from American Autowire, paired with a PSI engine management system and Dakota Digital gauges has everything electrical working as should and hassle free.
The 18 inch American Racing wheels were painted a ceramic matte black and paired with Hancook tires.
All the chrome, emblems, glass, wing window assy, dash plate, glove box door, window regulators, interior peices, weather stripping, tail lights, headlights w-buckets, panels, head liner, etc etc etc has been replace with new parts.
This truck was dyno tuned by Second Street Speed and produced 300 rear wheel horsepower.
It’s a fun truck to drive and rolls smooth at 80 mph at 2000 rpm.
Everything works as it should, the truck has just over 500 miles on it currently and is driven a few times a week to go to Lowe’s or Sunday breakfast.
I have close to 100 photos that were taken during this build if you have any further questions about what was done or replaced just ask.
