Lots of time and money spent on this beautiful truck. The restoration was done about 15 years ago but the body and paint still look beautiful with a great shine and no rust. The paint is the original color, 1956 Cardinal Red which was a Chevy truck color in the US and GMC color in Canada in 1956-57. Truck has been driven a few times each year and is stored indoors with a cover when not in use. It has not been winter driven except to take pictures for a Christmas card last year. The original engine starts easily with the foot starter and does not smoke. The engine has Fenton split exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust. Has an AGM battery which is sealed and maintenance-free. Transmission is 3 speed manual that works well in all gears with non-synchro 1st gear. Stock parking brake works great. All the gauges work, the speedo is not accurate. All window glass is new and the windows all open and close properly. All chrome on the truck is new or restored. Entire brake system rebuilt with new parts. Tires are like new. Bed wood was replaced with new oak but could use a fresh coat of sealer. All four fenders have been replaced with new. Interior of cab has been restored to stock with added extra chrome trim around window frames and windshield. All window and door mechanisms replaced with new. The stock radio has been restored and works great! The stock seat was restored but has since been replaced with more comfortable buckets and a handy center console. I no longer have the stock seat but they are easy to find if wanted.
Frame has no rust and is solid. Stock suspension front and rear has been rebuilt, truck goes down the road nice and straight and stops very well. It has low gears in the rear end so is great for around town but is limited for highway driving. Truck is stored indoors with a car cover when not being driven. We've had it to several shows over the years and it's always very popular, even taking Best In Stock class a couple times. This is not a $50K show truck but a very fun affordable classic truck that can be enjoyed as is, and very unusual because Canadian 9300 series GMC's are all Chevy underneath so very easy to swap to a V8 and auto transmission if desired. There a few small chips/scratches and minor flaws as the truck has been used and driven approximately 5000 miles since it was restored.
I'm offering the truck with a a very reasonable starting bid and NO RESERVE. We enjoy the truck very much and are only selling it because we have limited space and are looking to add something new. It is a verynice truck that turns headsand gets attention and compliments everywhere it goes. It has been babied and loved and is in great shape.
