Description:

1948 GMC 250 series

This is a lightly used 1948 GMC 250 series Panel Truck. The story of this New Design truck begins at the Detroit Fire Department, in 1948, as Foam Co. 3 truck #737, as canstill be seen in the well worn, gold lettering and the patina of it's mostly original red paint. All body panels are very straight, save a few small dings and dents. The doors all work as they should and have no rust. All the glass is in good condition, the windows roll up and down, the body and door seams are as they were from the factory. There are only 3,344 miles on this truck and it shows in the condition of this almost 70 year old truck.. After #737's service in the fire department it was displayed in a museum, for an unknown amount of time. The 228 inline 6 starts right up and idles and runs smooth. I recently replaced all 4 wheel cylinders, master cylinder, 3 brake hoses and the fuel pump. I also had the carburetor and water pump professionally rebuilt. So, not only does it start and run well, the steering is tight and the brakes stop well. The lights and turn signals function as they should. It is quite unusual to find a Chevrolet and especially rare to find a GMC 1 ton panel truck in this condition, unmolested, unrestored, not a rusty mess and not worked to death. This is your opportunity to own a very nice, very original panel truck, reasonably priced at $17,500. For more information please call me. Stan 856-546-8843
