1987 GMC High Sierra 1500 4x4 pickup with plow

I purchased this truck 2 years ago to plow my driveway and run errands. It is in exceptional condition for its age however it’s not perfect. It has been painted and has an obvious skim coat of body filler in the driver’s door that has cracked on the edge where it meets the fender. There are a few areas of surface rust coming through and scratches that have been touched up non-professionally and the touch up color does not match perfectly (see pictures of problem areas). The truck is very straight.

To my knowledge the truck is all original with the exception of the radio and re-paint. The emissions system is completely intact right down to the original catalytic converter. There are no code issues with the truck and the MIL light is not on. The odometer does work but because I am not the original owner I cannot guarantee it’s accurate. The Carfax report is free from any problems.

I have done the following since I have owned the truck. New temp sensor, hrottle position sensor and egr valve. New motor mounts, xhaust manifolds, eater core, ear bumper and rear brakes.

Everything mechanical works as it should. The 5.7L TBI V8 runs strong and does not knock, eak or burn oil. The 700R4 (with OD) transmission shifts smoothly and is strong. The transfer case is strong. The front axle u-joints are tight along with the u- joints in the drive shafts. The ball joints and tie rods are within tolerance. The truck handles beautifully going down the road. The front brakes look to be about 50% worn. The tires are all about 50% worn. Please note that the brands are mismatched but are all the same size.

The interior is good however the seat is worn and the previous owner installed a seat cover. The dash is cracked and has an aftermarket cover on it which looks good. The drivers side window tracks are a bit worn and require some guiding by hand for the window to roll up. The sliding rear window is missing the latch. The wiper control knob is a bit finicky but does work. All exterior lighting works and the truck passed NH state inspection last fall. The doors have the typical hinge wear for a GMC/Chevy truck of this vintage. They need be closed with some umph.

I’m not sure of the plow history with the truck but you can tell it has not been beat. I have only plowed my personal driveway with it and treated it with care. The only reason I am selling the truck is because I am selling my house. I don’t need it anymore. The 8’ fisher plow is included. I have the original GMC grill for the truck that is in very good condition. I installed the cheap aftermarket Chevy grill because the plow lines pass through it easier. I did not want the original grill damaged.

The truck is very solid and would be an excellent candidate for a repaint to make it show able. Or just enjoy it as is for years to come. Many people compliment on the truck at gas stations, tc.

I encourage anyone interested to come look at the truck before making an offer or purchasing. Please call 603-477-3209 to setup an appt. to come look at the truck or if you have any questions. The truck is being sold as is with no warranty due to its age. A non refundable $1000 deposit due by paypal within 24 hours of buy it now or best offer accepted. Balance due within 72 hours by money wire or certified check. The truck must be paid for before it is picked up. If you commit to buying the truck you are doing just that. Not to place a deposit, ome look at the truck and then decide. Again the truck is available for viewing before you commit to buy. I can store the truck for up to 30 days until pick up is arranged.

I do not have a title in hand for the truck. It's clear according to Carfax and the last title issued for it was in Massachusetts in 2010. My home state of NH does not require a title for a vehicle of this age nor do most states. I will provide a bill of sale and copy of the current registration.

There are not many 87’s left on the road, specially ones that are near original. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a nice older truck.
