1963 Ford Fairlane 500 50k original mile resto mod
This car started life as a fairlane 500 v8 car. It has 50,150 documented miles. This hot rod has had a complete tires up restoration with a modern twist. The front suspension has been updated to a heidts mustang II power rack and pinion. It has 2" forged drop spindles, 1" brakes and tubular control arms. The shock towers have been removed and smoothed like they were never there. The rear has new eaton leaf springs and shackles. Every nut, olt and bushing in the car is new. As for the drive train it has a fresh roller 5 liter with a nice sounding b303 ford performance camshaft, bk ceramicoated headers. edelbrock intake and carburetor. It has a pertronix billet distributor and billet coil. The alternator was updated to a new one wire style and the starter is new also. It has billet brackets and pulleys. The c4 transmission is flawless and has been rebuilt with all new parts then a new drive shaft was made to complete the drive train. It has a 8' rear end with a 300 ratio that has also been gone thru with new seals and bearings. It has new rear drums and brakes including the hardware and wheel cylinders. The exhaust has is a flowmaster 2.5" with a bbk x pipe. The radiator is new and the electric fan works from a sensor like a factory car and also has an over ride switch.
The interior of the car is a mix of new and old. The new is the carpet, eadliner and dash pad. All of the painted metal on the inside of the car has been painted with a nice epoxy paint with satin clear coat so it will last. The seats, oor panels and all of the interior chrome is original and looks good. This car came with a two tone blue that was only available with the 500 package. As for the modern updates it has a keep it clean brand modern wiring harness front to back. The floor was covered from front to back in sound deadening material. The steering column is a classic performance tilt stainless with stainless steering joints that connect it. The gauges were updated to a dolphin triple gauge set that fits in the stock location and looks great. I have the original gauge cluster with that will go with the car for mileage purposes. All of the sending units are new and match the gauges including the in the fuel tank that is also new.
The exterior of the car has new paint in the original color of Corinthian white. It has vision 18x8.5 wheels with dunlop tires to compliment the restomod look. The area in the center of the trim down the side of the car was color matched to the wheels as well as some accent pieces. The body was in great shape except the lower quarters and trunk floor. I have pictures of before, uring and after the replacement and i must say it was done to a very high standard. All of the chrome on the car is original to the car. All of the stainless trim is is near perfect. The chrome bumpers have a lot of shine and look good but they are from 1963 so they are not perfect.
As for some of the detail work all of the seals, ubber bumpers and door felts are new. The windows work well.
I am sure there are things i have forgot but ask me any question you want. If it is a moving part its was replaced or rebuilt. This car drives like a new car but cool as hell like a 63 fairlane should be.
