1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is exactly what you want in an early pony car. It's a true A-code drop-top that's also believed to be a true GT. That gives it a real distinction, and when combined with the four-speed manual transmission, it makes for a great car that mixes an iconic open-top style with a true performance experience.
Red Mustangs always instantly attract an audience, and this one does it one better with a hint of sinister sports car attitude courtesy of the GT package elements. After all, the white triple stripe on the rocker panels that sit between the 14-inch styled steel wheels gives this one a profile that's more aggressive look than most. And we especially love how the stripe coordinates with the top to give you a reason to enjoy this convertible even when the roof is in place. We all know there are some GT-specific elements you need to get the look right. That's why you have fog lights in the grille, all the correct badging, GT gas cap, and dual trumpet exhaust pipes coming through the rear valence. They paid attention to details during the cars later restoration, and you see in in places like the shine of the bumpers, door handles, and trim. This even has the rear luggage rack - a stylish but seldom-seen feature.
As much as we like the look of this one with the roof in place, a convertible was made to be open to the world. And this dark black interior really seems to bring out the sporty side of this GT. Nice carpeting, taut door panels, and a clean dash make this an inviting interior. And the upgraded AM/FM digital tune w/cassette and updated speakers do a great job of delivering upgraded driving music. That's all ideal, because this one really was made to hit the open road. It's a driver's environment with bucket seats, a center console, a grippy three-spoke steering wheel, and a Hurst shifter right where you want your right hand to rest.
Under the hood is a tidy setup that makes it easy to show off this 289 cubic-inch motor. It includes attractive polished pieces, like the air topper w/callout, alternator, and Mickey Thompson valve covers. As a true A-code car it's good to see a four-barrel carburetor on this V8, especially an upgraded Holley one. The motor fires up easily, and it exhales with a true presence through a stainless dual exhaust with Flowmasters. And you have full control over this V8 and its rumbling soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Plus, front disc brakes and wide BF Goodrich T/As means this is a car that confidently keeps you in touch with the road.
When a real-deal A-code Mustang drop-top is built for driving, then you know it's a classic that will be back out on the streets soon. So hurry up before you miss this deal. Call today!!!
