1965 ford thunderbird convertible - original barn find survivorParked in garage in 1973 due to loss of brakes while pulling in garage and left there for the next 45 years until I purchased carI brought the car home and cleaned it entirely90 plus original paint / original interior including carpet and convertible top71 thousand original milesTwo owner car which they purchased in 1965Things I have donePulled engine for a full year down and full rebuildNew brakes and linesNew fuel tankRecorded original radiatorNew motor mountsNew fuel pumpNew water pumpNew hosesNew master cylinderAll parts I have replaced I keptEngine has around two hours of run time

I’ve gotten a few questions already******. No rust or rot at all ****original paint****** no parts missing from under the hood - I have those******* no interior parts missing - back seat was removed to work on top******** convertible top pistons we’re just unpinned*******. The motor was rebuilt and put back in car - and runsThis gets to why the trans was removed. It’s all pretty simple to understand !!

The one thing that I did not do with regret was to rebuild the transmissionSo after all the work - currently trans is out and needs to be gone throughTires need to be replacedExhaust should be replaced or repaired it’s originalConvertible top is original and very nice other then back windowTop did not open had to jump out relays to unlock and open. Needs relaysQuarter panel on passenger side needs repair from hitting garage door openingFactory undercoat and only spot on car see pic is smaller then my pinkyDoes have paint loss and some surface rustBut truly a great survivor fir a t bird guy
