1990 Ford Mustang LX 7-UP Edition

Built for a high profile joint venture between two corporate behemoths and offering plenty of bona fide collectability, this 1990 Ford Mustang LX 7-Up Edition wears a sharp exterior/interior color scheme that comes part and parcel with its special edition status. This droptop also features an array of rock-solid mechanical components that have not only powered legions of Mustangs over the years but have also served as the foundation for countless aftermarket projects due to their consistent dependability, so its prospects of providing plenty more future enjoyment are bright.
When plans for a high profile contest pairing Ford with soft drink bottling giant 7-Up fell through at the eleventh hour, Ford ended up with about 4,000 distinctively dressed droptops on its hands. While this would seem like a sizable number when viewed from an inventory perspective, it's really not much in automotive manufacturing terms and since a number of these special edition Ponies have been modified either aesthetically or mechanically or have fallen by the wayside, this '90 represents a rare find. It's dressed in a magnetic coat of Deep Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic that was created especially for the contest and is a distant cousin of the Highland Green so many of its predecessors from the '60s wore. The exterior remains in good shape, with its alignment thoroughly intact and an assortment of body trim that presents well. The accompanying power white convertible top is free of any pronounced wear and raises easily into position to protect you from the elements.
Inside the doors, the white leather interior is just vintage enough to set it apart from the present day, but still sports some welcome touches that make for an enjoyable driving experience. The sport buckets up front provide a nice mix of comfort and support and, like the bench seat in back, have plenty of future miles still in them. The seating looms over carpet that was only recently replaced, so it's in top form. From the center console on up to the dash area, you'll likely be impressed with the consistently strong condition inside - there's no sign of abuse anywhere, the factory gauges in the cluster look great and function just as intended and the dash pad running across the top is still supple and shiny. There's a welcome collection of comfort and convenience features on hand, including power lumbar adjustments in the front buckets, power door locks and windows, air conditioning, cruise control and an AM/FM/Cassette stereo to provide a period correct listening experience. The trunk area in back appears as if it has seen virtually no activity at all.
This convertible is powered by a High Output 5.0 liter electronically fuel-injected V8 - a powerplant that's well known to both Mustang aficionados and aftermarket modification enthusiasts. Its reputation for anvil-like durability has been thoroughly reinforced over the years, so it holds the promise of plenty of fun-filled future driving as it teams with a 4-speed automatic transmission whose overdrive gear really comes in handy to bring down RPMs at highway speeds. This LX is a strong performer in all respects - it offers spirited acceleration, along with traction control to ensure that the power hits the pavement efficiently. Power steering makes for easy maneuverability, while power brakes, featuring discs up front, bring it to prompt stops. It rolls on a set of very sharp 15" special edition GT "Turbine" wheels outfitted with Falken tires.
With its combination of classic charm, bona fide collectability and modern conveniences, this 1990 Ford Mustang LX 7-Up Edition is a keeper. Call today!
