This 1940 ½ Ton pickup is a frame off restoration that maintains much of its original look but is updated for the modern road. My pleasure was in the build and I find that I don't drive it. The build was finished in 2009 and I've driven it less than 2000 miles since it was finished. It is time to sell it to someone who will enjoy the finished product. I have invested over $90,000 in this restoration/customization. The body and paint work alone was over $50,000. The front end is a Mustang II with individual wheel springs and shocks and power steering. The rear end is from a Ford Granada with leaf springs. Front brakes are disc. Rear brakes are drum. The dual mufflers are Magna Flow. The frame was sand blasted and powder-coated black. The original VIN number is stamped on the top, front of the frame on the driver's side. The gas tank, lines and filler tube are brand new. A roll-over safety switch is installed. The engine is a used, rebuilt Ford 302 with a matched automatic overdrive transmission. All new Telorvek IV wiring system for the Ford Sequential fuel injection system was installed. Electrical wiring is from Ron Francsis and the system has been converted to 12 volts. The battery and other electrical components are located in the compartment under the bench seat. The body, fenders and box are all steel and original equipment. The body, including the interior painted surfaces of the cab, is Chrysler Metallic Burgundy. The running boards are covered in black vinyl. The bed is oak plank with chrome strips. The seat belts are installed for the driver and passenger. The bench-seat has been rebuilt and is covered in cream-colored roll and tuck vinyl with grey-brown highlights. The cab is carpeted with a grey-brown carpet and the head-line is a cream color. A modern CD/Stereo system with door mounted speakers and Bluetooth. The AC is Southern Air. The instrument kit is VDO. All trim is original Ford trim. The wheels are chrome with P225/70R15 tires rear and P195/65/14in the front. The windshield wipers are electric. The truck is an easy rider and a great driver.
