This quality of truck is usually passed among friends...rarely available in a public forum like eBay. My friend is now in the later stages of life. He bought this truck 6 years ago as a fresh, omplete frame-off restoration done to a very high level. He has driven itapproximately 6-700 miles a year only to shows, arades and on perfect weather days. The pictures were taken 8-6-2015. We just pulled it out of the garage and wiped it down. He does not own a computer and has ask me to sell it for him. It is myprivilegeto do so.
The truck is a completely original restoration with matching # correct engine and transmission. It is the very desired 'Custom Cab', ig rear window,with a beautifully refinished oak bed...and it's RED!!
ENGINE: Original rebuilt 239 Y block stock V8. Rated at 132 horsepower....it starts and runs beautifully.
TRANSMISSION: Original 4 speed on the floor. Remarkably tight, hifts well, ood clutch...shifts like it should.
BODY: All steel no dents...I looked hard and found the paint to be in remarkable condition. Fit and finish, roper gaps in the door and hood seams all reflect a quality restoration. Doors and hood open and shut effortlessly. This truck has not seen a water bath since restoration. It has always been 'dry cleaned' with professional grade cleaning supplies and towels. Shows pride of ownership.
INTERIOR: Really beautiful! Tasteful seat and door panel treatments. All done professionally and top quality. Look carefully at the pictures. All glass is excellent, ll gauges/instruments work as they should.
QUALITY UPGRADES:1. This truck has been properly converted to a 12 volt system. The generator was taken to a local respected shop and the interior was rebuilt to 12 volt necessary standards. All items necessary to complete the proper conversion including coil, ll lighting front to back, witches, elays, oltage reducers etc were replaced. I will include this documentation with the sale.
2. Two speed electricwindshield wiper motor.
3. The seat upholstery is not as original, ut very, ery tastefully done.
4. Baby Moon hubcaps and chrome rims. Not original but very period correct.
Summary: If you have been looking for a quality 1955 Ford 1/2 ton for 1/2 the price it would cost to have one fully restored...you've found it. Priced below current values. No low ballers please.
