Description:

1965 Ford Mustang

This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback is being listed with NO RESERVE. This car is being sold by the wife of the 2nd owner who recently passed away. He had purchased the car from what we believe was the original owner around 1987. The car appears to have spent its entire life in the Las Vegas desert.
The exterior of the car was originally paint code M, or Wimbledon white, which can be seen in places. The original owner repainted the car in a silver blue metallic prior to 1987. The paint is quite faded and the clear coat is gone in most areas, however, there is very little rust anywhere on the car. Some bubbling on the lower passenger door and in the trunk. The panels are very straight with very few dents. The hood was replaced at some point after the repaint as it has a R-dot sticker and the paint has survived better than the rest of the car. The glass is also in good condition. There is window film on the inside of the glass, which could easily be removed. Chrome brightwork also shows well. The bumpers are in good condition and definitely could be reused.
The standard interior was refreshed by the 2nd owner. It appears the seats were recovered and carpet was replaced. Seat belts also have date codes of 2006. Overall the interior shows well. The dashboard top pad is warped. Headliner is tight and clean. Door panels are original and in good condition. The driver's side door lock cylinder is inoperative. A Clarion cassette deck (circa 1980's) was installed by original owner along with additional speakers behind the rear seat. The LCD readout on the stereo does not function properly.
The 289 V8 2 barrel runs and the C4 automatic shifts and drives. Factory A/C does not blow cold but the equipment is present. Tires have a 2013 date code and have plenty of treadlife.
This is a solid example of a first year, fastback Mustang that could be driven as is, restored or used as a solid starting point for a restomod build.
Please check my feedback and ask questions prior to bidding. I am listing the car for the owner and am not a dealer.
