1956 Ford Fairlane VICTORIA

I WOULD LIKE TO START BY SAYING THIS IS A VERY NICE CAR AND A REAL SURVIVOR. IT WAS FOUND IN A GARAGE A LITTLE OVER 10 YEARS AGO BY A FELLOW WHO HAD IT PAINTED, THE CORRECT DATA PLATE COLOR, GE, MEADOW MIST GREEN & COLONIAL WHITE, HAD THE ORIGINAL ABC INTERIOR PUT IN AND GOT IT RUNNING, AFTER REMOVING THE HEADS AND DOING THE VALVES ALONG WITH NEW ROD BEARINGS. ALL THE CHROME WAS REDONE, THE STAINLESS WAS POLISHED AND THEY BOTH ARE STILL VERY NICE. IT THEN WAS SITTING IN A GARAGE UNTIL HE PASSED AWAY AND DRIVEN VERY LITTLE. THIS WOULD EXPLAIN SOME OF THE LOW MILES ON THE CAR. IT HAS A VERY NICE PAINT JOB AND THE BODY IS STRAIGHT WITH NO BONDO.IHAVE TOUCHED UPA FEW SMALL SCRATCHES ETC. YOU CAN RUN A MAGNET ANYWHERE. IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL CROSS MEMBER THAT IS SOLID AND HAS THE SEAMS UNDER THE TAIL LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS. ALSO THERE IS NO RUST ON LIP ON THE BACK QUARTER OVER THE BACK WHEELS. THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL AS MY FIRST CAR, A 56 VIC, WAS STARTING TO SHOW RUST THERE AND WAS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD. THE ONLY THING I CAN FIND THAT WAS DONE IS A NEW ROCKER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND A I/2 ROCKER REPLACED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE MESSED WITH THESE CARS FOR CLOSE TO 60 YEARS AND LIVED IN ILLINOIS MY FIRST 60 YEARS AND I KNOW RUST OUT. IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND ONE LIKE THIS. I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THE GRANDSON AND HAVE RESTORED IT TO THE WAY IT LOOKS NOW. I HAVE ADDED FOUR COKER CLASSIC 215-75R-15 W-W-W RADIALS, PAINTED RIMS, WENT THROUGH THE BRAKES, PUT ON A NEW MASTER CYLINDER, ADDED THE ROCKER STAINLESS, NEW PINION SEAL, RAN THE VALVES, INSTALLED A NEW IDLER ARM, INSTALLED A NEW PAIR OF CHROME ABOVE THE HEAD LITE SPEARS AND PUT ON TWO NEW OUTSIDE MIRRORS. I DO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENTS BACK TO WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE WHEN BRAND NEW. WHEN I TAKE ONE OF MY CARS TO A CAR SHOW OR CRUISE-IN THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WANTING ME TO DO THEIR ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THEY DON'T REALIZE HOW LONG IT TAKES. THE WORST PART IS THE CLEANING AND THEN I DO IT ALL BY HAND PAINTING IT. I PUT ALL NEW RUBBER SEALS ON THE DOORS ETC. THIS CAR STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL TINTED GLASS WINDOWS THAT ARE ALL IN SUPER CONDITION EVEN THE VENT WINDOWS. I DID REPAINT THE TOP DOOR CHANNELS AND INSTALLED ALL NEW ANTI-RATTLERS (CAT WHISKERS). I INSTALLED FOUR NEW SHOCKS, PUT IN A CORRECT JACK AND GOOD SPARE TIRE. I PUT IN NEW PLUGS, WIRES, DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ADDED PERTRONIX IGNITOR ELECTRONIC IGNITION. THAT REPLACES THE POINTS, CONDENSER AND RESISTOR.I REBUILT THE CARBURETOR, ADDED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND INLINE FILTER. THIS BABY RUNS GOOD, HANDLES GOOD, SHIFTS GOOD, ALL THE GAUGES WORK AND THE T & C RADIO EVEN WORKS. AND IT WORKS REALLY GOOD. THE UNDER ENGINE SPLASH PANS ARE STILL ON IT AS WELL AS THE TOP RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR. I HAVE MORE PICTURES AND PROBABLY HAVE FORGOT SOMETHING SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN OUR CAR GIVE ME A CALL. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THIS CAR HAS THE ORIGINAL PAINT ON THE DASH THAT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE ORIGINAL HEADLINER ALSO IN GREAT CONDITION. IT ALSO HAS THE ADD ON ACC. WINDSHIELD WASHERS AND BACK UP LIGHTS.
