  • Very clean undercarriage (could be steamed cleaned and look new)
If you are looking for rare and low mile original engine, trans and rear end Mustang that has always been garaged since new then you have found it! This car was bought new from an employee at a local Ford dealership in Atlanta and kept in garage condition for 30 plus years. The car was sold after that to a Ford enthusiast who had it repainted the factory color around 1995 and freshened up the engine and added a 289 HiPo specked cam (460 lift/ 310 duration), HiPo manifold headers, 600cfm carb with manual choke, upgraded period correct distributor, larger fuel pump, and Cobra aluminum intake and valve covers, all new hoses ( radiator, heater, vacuum etc), all done at 46,000 miles. New items from around the same time include, clutch, pressure plate, wheel bearings, u joints, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake lines from front to back ( all hard lines and rubber lines) grease seals, new power brake booster, new springs front and rear, shocks front and rear, all steering components, gas tank, dual exhaust system etc. The factory generator is still in tact and works like new, also all factory wiring looks just as it did in 1964. The 289 High Performance emblems and decals were also added.
The interior is all original and in excellent shape, all rubber, trim and weatherstripping look new, carpet is faded but the car comes with a complete new 1964 1/2 carpet kit from Cj Pony Parts still in the box. All glass is factory with all factory labels in the corner and in great shape. I have put some under dash pictures up so you can see how neat everything under the dash is.
The trunk looks like it just left the Ford dealership in 1964 (Please see pics) original spare, jack, mat, rubber, and trim.
Wheels are all factory with original wire spoke hubcaps and Michelin white wall tires.
This car is an original 56,000 mile car that has always been kept inside and driven very little by all three of its owners. It runs and drives like new, the trans is very smooth and the car is very quick for a 289, the Sunlight Yellow paint is 24 years old but still looks very well with only minor blemishes visible upon close inspection. It doesn't have and has never had any rust anywhere. All chrome and moldings are in great shape for factory parts and look good. I honestly believe that you would be hard pressed to find another 1964 1/2 that is this rust free, this original and is this tight. The doors shut on this car just like a 2019 Mustang and the factory lines are great.

I have been told by a couple of Mustang guys that this car is definitely a D code car being a 1964 1/2 which is indicated by the day plate. I was told that the D code is rarer but just wanted to be clear. Thanks

Thanks again to all of the Mustang guys who have sent me info. The D code was the 4v offering from Ford before the "K" code became the top engine in the new Mustangs. Build code were in the third place in the VIN, D,F or U indicated a true 64.5 and the A,C and T indicated a 65 model year. So this car is all numbers matching and a pretty rare car.
