1970 Ford Mustang Sports Roof

You are looking at a Super Solid1970 Ford Mustang Sportsroof that was ordered as a pretty basic car. This carwhile needinga full restorationisa SolidSouthern Carandwould make for a very straight forwardrestoration.

This is an ORIGINAL F-code 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback thatspent it's entire life in Central Ga. It was a Barn/Yard find when found and was put away for a someday restoration. TheMustang ended up in the hands of a well intentionedenthusiast who ended up with more projects thanhe had time or space for.

After getting started on the restoration by partially disassembling this car;the reality of things set in; andit was decided that it would be best to bolt it back togetherand sell offthe Mustang to focus on his other projects/priorities.

Thiscar is justwaiting forthe nextMustangenthusiast to come along and finish restoring this car to its former glory!!

This car was a Basic Off - Standard Equipment Order at Moody Ford Motor Co. in Warner Robins, Ga. It was ordered in the Atlanta 21 DSO in Medium Lime Metallic with a Dark Ivy Bucket Seat Interior

ThisFastback was furtherspec'd outwith an F-code 302-2V, 3-speed Manual Transmission, and a 2.79 geared conventional rear end!

This '70 Mustang Sportsroofper the Deluxe Marti Report was originally ordered as follows:
302-2V V-8 Engine 3-speed Manual Transmission2.79 GearedConventional RearMedium Lime Exterior PaintIvy VinylBucket Seat InteriorE78-14 Belted White Sidewall TiresAM RadioWheel Covers
This car is a project carthat has been sitting fora number of years.Over the years a few changes have been made and somewhere along the way theMustang's originalpowerplantwas removed; but a complete replacement running 302 and C4 Automatic out of another Mustang is available and included with the car.
I also have a Toploader 4-speed Transmission I can make available for the winning bidder at extra cost should they so desire
The brakes are not functional at this time and will need to be gone through. They started to do a Disc Brake Conversion and added the Power Brake Stick Pedals and the Power Booster but that is as far as they got. There are drum brakes up front and the rear has no brakes or 3rd member.
The Wheels and Tries are BRAND NEW on this car and are American Racing Torque Thrusts with BF Goodrich Radial TA's.
This car would make for an AWESOME Boss 302 Tribute car!!!
Thecar hadbeen repaintedover the original Medium Lime paint and color changed tosome funky Purple Fade paint job from the 80's before being stripped and primered. The body while extremely solid has had some bumps and bruises over the years. Both 1/4's were very decent and only required the lower rears to be repaired. All of the seams on the engine bay aprons are nice andunblistered. This car showssome wear and tear from its years of road duty; but reallyis not a terrible car to work with. With that said a complete cosmetic resto would be in order.
The Body on theMustang whilenowhere near perfect, norpaint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with. The Hood,Fenders, and 1/4's are all Super Solid Pieces to work with. The doors and the decklid while needing some attention aregood workable pieces.
The Floors have been done and sprayed with Red Oxide Primer. TheTorque Boxes, Frame Rails, Rockers, TrunkFloors, Drops, Cowl, etc. are super solidon this car.
There are manyNEW parts included with this car to be used in its restoration. Here is a partial list of the NEW items that come with this car as part of the auction.

Undoubtedly you will need someparts and pieces for this car as yourestore it, but it is a prettycomplete car that is well optioned and asuper solid platform to start with!!
TheBucket Seat Interior ispretty much complete; but needing restoration. It does show it's age; butmost all of the pieces seem to be good serviceable/restorable pieces. It has had the Deluxe Woodgrain instruments added.
Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as anearly 50year old project car that has been around the block and knocked around a bit needing complete restoration to include body work, mechanical work, and cosmetic reconditioning.
Overall this is a very decent 1970 Mustang Fastback thatis a solid restoration candidate. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death don't come along very often. This car is registered and insured in my name and is ready for transfer. The state of Georgia does not require titles on pre-86 vehicles (Alabama, Connecticut, New York and several other states are the same way) and we use a Ga State Registration as the ownership document that conveys as title and converts to title in title states. If you have been looking for a SolidMustang Fastback to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before anothersolid resto projectsuch as this comes along again!
