1929 Ford Model A Fordor Sedan

This 1929 Model A Ford Sedan is black with black wheels and a red and black vinyl interior.I bought this Briggs Body Fordor Sedan from a Mr. Alex Werchan in Gay Hill Texas in 1965.I then had it completely restored by local vendors including rebuilding the engine.The paint and interior were done by vendors in Brenham Texas and I'm sure that the original fabric on the seats is still under the 1965 era red and black vinyl upholstery.As I recall it had a medium brown cloth interior.I was in high school when I bought it and I drove it for two years in high school and one year in college.It has always been stored inside either in my father's Carriage Museum at our ranch in Gay Hill Texas or briefly in a workshop building on the ranch and thereafter at a climate controlled storage space here in Houston.It has never been left out in the weather during my 50 years of ownership except for about a year during college in 1967.

The engine was rebuilt in 1965 right after I bought it.The odometer says 64,389 miles which might actually be accurate.I have driven it no more than 12000 miles during the 53 years that I have owned it which was primarily in high school and one year in collegeIt is all original mechanically (but restored to running condition) which of course includes the six volt electrical system.A few days ago I charged up the battery and the starter cranked the engine over just fine but I did not start the engine yet since I had drained all the gas out before storage.All of the glass is original and all four windows crank up and down just fine.

It needs a minor cosmetic restoration such as minor paint work and perhaps new interior upholstery although the interior is quite serviceable as it is if you don't mind the red and black vinyl.When I was in high school in 1965 I knew nothing about original ford colors and interiors so this is what I chose.I had the wheels painted red in 1965 and years later my father had them repainted in black.The inner tube on the spare tire may have failed and may need replacement.It is a nice solid Briggs body sedan which is the wood frame structure covered with Ford factory metal body parts.The roof covering would originally have been leather and fabric, but the previous owner had a local sheet metal shop cover that top with sheet metal in the early 1960's.It is serviceable without leaks so I chose to leave it in place.

So, in short this vehicle has been under my ownership for 53 years and driven only occasionally. I got my first modern car in 1968 so I only drove this Model A occasionally for 3 years while in high school and college and thereafter very rarely.It has been well cared for and always stored indoors.Most of those years of storage, it was in an air conditioned carriage museum with my fathers horse drawn carriages and more recently in climate controlled storage here in Houston.My reserve price is fairly low so all offers will be entertained.
