Description:

1942 Ford 1 1/2 ton Oilfield Wireline

This is a very special truck, used in the oilfield, it was state of the art in the mid 40's. This 1942 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck was custom built for the Dia Log Company and used extensively for years. It was retired, and restored years back, and used for display, parades etc. It spent it's time in Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. This is a 6 volt positive ground truck, flathead Ford 6 that purrs like a kitten, but will need some attention if it is to be driven alot. The brakes must be bled after sitting a while as there seems to be a leak in the master cylinder. The tires are good, just old, it steers great for a monster (and this thing is a monster), it has the wireline drum in back loaded with wireline, some demo tools, an old Onan generator is mounted in a box outside near the back that I have been able to fire up, lights all work, its a really cool truck that gets LOTS of attention. It has been in various museums over the years and kept indoors. I have had it for 15 years and I want to see it go somewhere where it will be enjoyed and appreciated. My main goal in selling the truck is to see that it goes to someone with the time, resources and desire to keep this old truck alive and for future generations. If you are such a person, lets talk! My asking price is $35,000 which I believe is a fair and reasonable deal and with a few dollars invested could be worth alot more! NO DEALERS, NO TRADES
