Description:

1988 Ford Crown Victoria Country Squire LX

Exceptionally well maintained/preserved 1988 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Country Squire LX Wagon. 69,777 miles. Rare and hard to find wagon, especially in this condition.

I do not know the entire history of this car but do know that it sat undriven for many years after an earlier owner (older gentlemen) got into a low impact bumper to bumper incident as reflected by the Autocheck report. No apparent damage from this incident on the car.

Car was brought into the Cleveland, Ohio area by the previous owner and extensive mechanicals works was done in 2015 to put it back in top shape. This specific model wagon had been on my bucket list for many years and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy such a gem when it came for sale in late 2016. Car was trailer carried and imported in Quebec, Canada.

The odometer shows 69,777 and is chronologically in accordance with the Autocheck report. From experience, driver seat (and all other seats), pedals, carpets and general condition of the car are those of an original low mileage car.

The LX model comes with every conceivable Ford options of the late 80's era : 5-liter/302-cubic-inch V-8, All leather seats, Electrical driver seat, Dual exhaust, Air conditioning (A/C doesn't blow cold), Cruise control, Tinted glass, Autolamp on/off delay system, Interval windshield wipers, Remote control outsider mirrors, Dual actionable tail gate, Power window, Power locks,Power controlled tailgate window, AM-FM stereo search radio W-4 spkrs, etc., etc. etc. All options fully functioning (excluding A/C and one window).

Documented (invoices) maintenance work done :

- AAMCO Reconditioned transmission with rebuilt torque converter

- Removed and flushed fuel tank

- Water pump

- Fuel pump, gasket, filter

- Thermostat and gasket

- Bypass hoses

- Upper/Lower radiator hoses

- Heater hoses

- Coolant

- Repac wheels bearings

- All brakes fully rebuilt including all brakes lines

- New battery

- New dual exhaust and pipes

- Etc.

The paint still shines like new with very minor wear and tear, nicks and chips here and there but nothing major. Surface rust removal and repaint/touch-ups work on bottom door panels and wheel wells. This is not a Barret Jackson car but does show very well and pictures speaks for themselves. This wagon is not perfect and flaws should be realistically expected from a 1988 driven family car. Non-functioning left passenger side window. Jerky on/off low fuel light and A/C doesn't blow cold, one small chip on lower windshield passenger side. Heater fully functioning. All seats leather (including third row) in perfect condition with no rips or stains. Non cracked dash that show stunningly well. Door panels in very good shape. Clean carpets with no rips or stains, assorted original color matched front/rear floor mats in excellent condition. No funny smell of any sort.

Michelin All seasons tires in good condition. Much desired 3rd row seating. Dual gate door. Woodgrain in good condition. Undercarriage in excellent condition with no holes/rot/rust in the floors or frame. This a very honest description with listed/pictured flaws so the new owner will not be surprised, however these flaws are truly very minor. I am always proud to drive with this car at various car venue and it only gets pleasant smiles, many WOW, thumbs up and various 80's family stories.

This car runs and drives amazing and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across USA or Canada.

For safety reasons a very thorough and strict mandatory mechanical inspection is required and imposed by the DMV (SAAQ) authorities on all cars being imported in Quebec, Canada. All main components on this car where verified and inspected by an authorized independent DMV certified mechanic. DMV mechanical inspection certification report did not note any defect.
