1972 Ford Galaxie Red Bench Seats

As to myself, I am a (68) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback that is at 100% with (1,197) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle/classic cars, which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Australia and the Netherlands. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle car lovers.

Just some quick history on the 1972 Ford Galaxie 500. TheFord Galaxiewas afull-size carbuilt in theUnited Statesby theFord Motor Companyfor model years 1959 through 1974. The name was used for the top models in Ford's full-size range from 1959 until 1961, in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding theSpace Race. The 1972 Galaxie had very similar lines and design to the previous year 1971 full size Ford and Galaxie. Like its predecessor, these cars were built big, strong, luxurious and quiet. Designed for safety and ultimate comfort, these cars used more steel than most cars built prior. The spacious LTD Brougham was the ultimate model for 1972. These cars sported plush interiors in both two and four door hardtops. The Galaxie 500 was the base model line for 1972. The engine team consisted of a 351-2V, 400-2V, and 429-4V engine. Due to smog equipment and a change in the ratings system, horsepower figures declined sharply in 1972. The options list was extensive, some of the most popular items were: padded instrument cover, air conditioning, cruise control, remote mirrors, power sunroof, high back split bench seat, 6 way power seat, tilt steering wheel, and power disc brakes. The 1974 model year was essentially a repeat of 1973, but it was the last year for theGalaxie 500name. Ford elected to consolidate most of its full-size models under the popularLTDname for 1975.
