Also included with the truckare all repair receipts for extensive mechanical work recently done to the truck.

I purchased the Highboy several years ago out of Spokane, Washington from the son of the 2nd owner. The truck was originally purchased by James McIntosh from Kendall Ford in Eugene, Oregon.Story has it that Mr. McIntosh purchased the truck in 1976.Shortly after his purchase Mr. McIntosh went out on a fishing adventure where he got the truck stuck. His experience was not a pleasant one and Mr. McIntosh returned to the Ford dealer and traded the truck in.The Hafer family then purchased the truck from the dealership and kept it until it was sold to me in 2015.

Upon purchase I had the truck shipped to my home in Helena, Montana. The truck was in great condition, very clean with the typical rust over the wheels in the rear. The truck drove great, was extremely solid and interior super clean. Unfortunately the motor was weak. This is where the transformation begins!

It just so happened that I had the 390 motor out of my one owner 1976 crew cab.The motor had 70,000 original miles. When thecrew cabwas new the dealership installed a "Cobra Kit" in the motor.I am not familiar with this kit but am told it is comprised of 428 rotating equipment as well as other niceties. The motor was quickly traded out with the tired motor.A new clutch and pressure plate were installed (along with any wear items) at the same time.

When the truck was ready to go I flew out to Montana from California, picked the truck up and drove it home. The truck ran and drove great!

Once in California I began my search for a replacement box.Rather than install patch panels I wanted to install a rust free California box. What I ended up finding was a complete super clean 1975 two wheel drive F250.The truck was perfect, was air conditioned, and was a great color combo (Orange and White). After months of planning we undertook a complete frame off restore and body swap. The finished product turned out great! To keep its originality the truck was not repainted. So what you get is a frame off restore with a barn find body and paint!

Over the last 25 years my hobby of collecting and restoring muscle cars has expanded to vintage 4x4s.It is getting increasingly difficult to find unmolested, original 4x4s that have not been abused. When I see something unique, well cared for and original I buy it, tinker with it and enjoy it!That is exactly how this truck ended up in my collection.Unfortunately, from time to time I have to downsize the herd and that time is now. Some lucky EBAYER is going to end up with a really nice 1976 Ford F-250 Highboy!I have put less than 500 miles on the truck since its completion!

Exterior:100% original paint with good shine that really pops. Normal scratches and chips from use.Paint is thin on the hood.Straight, accident free and rust free as shown in pics! Unlike most of theHighboysscreaming"rust free" in all caps in Ebay ads, this one actually is. There is one small dent on the leading edge of the hood (passengers side) and a very small ding in the passenger's fender (both can be seen in photos).Glass is all in good condition. Wheels are stock and ingreat shape.Tires are new (235 - 85 - 16).There is light surface rust bottom of the box but no rot.

Interior: Stunning and new.The pictures speak for themselves. The interior is perfect and really pops!Seat material is 1975 NOS Bronco houndstooth. The original Ranger XLT seat pattern was maintained but the original cloth was replaced with the Bronco houndstooth. Really fresh and seems new when you climb into the vehicle. I haven't seen an interior this clean in many, many years. Very nice withnone of the typical moisture damage or pitting. No rodent damage or smells. All gauges work and all lights are working with the exception of the left turn indicator (bulb). Aftermarket AM/FM CD works and sounds great. All the A/C equipment is in place but the compressor needs replaced to be operational. All stock save for previously mentioned AM/FM. Pretty much perfect save the small crack in the 4x4 shifter boot.Really, super, super nice.

Mechanical:Excellentmechanical condition. The 390 pulls strong, transmission shifts perfectly and transfer case goes in and out of 4x4 with ease.Truck has no annoying drips, slobbers or rattles.Comes with lots of paperwork for recent work.Truck is equipped with the heavy duty rear spring pack (10 leaf).

The truck is original save the AM/FM/CD. I've been driving it on and off over the last year and it really is smooth, tight, and nice. This Highboy is just a great, honest rig!

If you are in the market for a Highboy this is one to be considered.I have spent a ton of money having this truck built. No corners were cut BUT the truck was not painted and no weather stripping replaced. The trucks undercarriage was cleaned and detailed and looks like new.

What do you get with this truck? A frame off restore with a barn find body and paint. It is very cool!

Finding a Highboy in original condition and unmolested like this 1976 does not happen very often! Take it to cruise night or Saturday morning coffee or tuck it away at that special mountain retreat in Stowe, Mammoth, Steamboat Springs or Jackson Hole. Wherever you have it or whenever you drive it get ready for lots of thumbs up and gas pump conversation!Don't let this one slip away!

As a bonus, the truck comes with all ID plates, body tags and titles for both the 1976 Highboy and 1975 two wheel drive.1976 is currently registered while the 1975 is on non-operational status in the state of California.
