To the layman, his classic might look like a simple, rightly colored pickup. But, n reality, irtually every single component on the truck has been modified or altered in some way. Its body is a smooth combination of solid steel and vivid GM paint. Its drivetrain mixes 460 cubic inches of big block power with a tough automatic transmission. And its interior wraps custom paneling in supple leather trim. Whether you're a diehard Ford guy, r just an enlightened gearhead who appreciates killer design, op-notch custom work, nd a polished and powerful drivetrain, his spectacular Effie is just your style!

BODYWORK/TRIM

As far as popularity goes, o truck has a larger following than Ford's storied F-Series. And '50s F-Series, odels that enjoy one of the largest aftermarket support bases in the classic car hobby, re some of the most attractive trucks ever built. Making the best of that era's curvy proportions and a '56-exclusive cab design, his F100 seals hours of impressive labor under slick GM Raspberry Pearl pigment and sophisticated, ulti-color stripes. That wet looking 2-stage highlights a laser-straight body, he result of an intense restoration that involved ample fine-tuning. That clean body's top-notch metalwork is, rom the outside of its panels, ompletely undetectable. And today, his custom rolls as a vivid, ully sorted head turner!

Introduced as a 1-year only design, ord's venerable 'big window' F100 has become one of the most desirable and collectible trucks on the planet. Additionally, ts clean profile and sinuous form make it the perfect candidate for the kind of skillful customization you see here. At the front of the truck, chromed and shaved grille hangs bright halogen headlights above painted, ail slot parking lamps, nd a painted and tucked bumper. Behind that grille, smoothed and shaved hood leads the eye to dark-tint glass that's founded at a filled cowl, leared by correct windshield wipers, nd reflected in tinted and body-matched mirrors. At the sides of that glass, haved doors cap a familiar profile that's finished with massaged running boards and wide rear fenders. At the center of that profile, custom tonneau stretches sculpted leather over a smoothed, ood-floored bed that anchors two nitrous tanks in front of a polished fuel cell, polished battery box and a polished storage box. And at the back of that bed, custom, wing-away tailgate shades a custom roll pan that features clean mail slot taillights.

ENGINE

While Ford's trusty Y-block is a good engine that provides a solid ownership experience, his F100's high quality restoration includes high quality upgrades. And those high quality upgrades begin with 460 cubic inches of big block V8: a set-up that served duty as the F-Series' top option mill for many years. The motor's energy mixture is supplied by a big Holley carburetor, hich is threaded onto polished fluid lines, liquid-filled Summit pressure gauge, raided Russell feeds and a reliable Mallory regulator. That decked and coated 4-barrel rides between a polished air cleaner, coated intake and polished and painted valve covers that sport cool MQQN Equipment breathers. At the front of those valve covers, proven MSD distributor sequences fire through loomed Accel Ferro-Spiral Race Wires. That fire is kept in check by a beefy, olor-keyed radiator, hich is mated to a polished shroud that frames a large, olor-keyed pulley fan. A polished serpentine system spins a chrome alternator, odern power steering and modern air conditioning while spent gases float through wide, and-fabricated headers. And, n case Ford monster block motivation simply won't do, here's a complete NOS Powershot system that's bolted, ired and ready blow. Aesthetically, ivid GM Raspberry Pearl paint ensures the truck is more than just a random curbside attraction. And details like polished fluid reservoirs, n array of chrome hardware and a trick, orward-tilt hood are sure to attract plenty of adoring fans.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Behind that ferocious big block, stout C6 3-speed spins a hearty aluminum driveshaft, hich twists a narrowed Currie 9-inch that's complete with an aluminum center section and tall, .11 gears. That first-class drivetrain is held off the ground by a thoroughly massaged chassis, hich, long with solid floors, as been bathed in the same stripes and raspberry color scheme as the truck's smooth exterior panels. At the front of that chassis, Heidts Superide suspension utilizes power rack-and-pinion steering, olished tubular control arms and familiar RideTech shocks to combine a pleasant ride with a good stance. At the back of that chassis, polished 4-link utilizes modern coil-over-shocks to provide drag strip worthy launches. Serious stops to counter the truck's serious power come courtesy of four vented discs and four polished, ower-assisted calipers. The aforementioned headers feed an H-shaped crossover, olished, lasspack-style mufflers and fully polished side-exit pipes. And all that muscle rides on slick Coys wheels, hich roll 26x8.00R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs in front of 31x18.00R20 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs. With a beefy drivetrain that's supplemented with ancillaries like Wilwood brake components, deep-sump oil pan, tainless fluid lines and high quality Mallory fuel components, his Ford is the real deal. And with the kind of detailing that includes, mong other things, ody-matched, ndercoated wheel wells, t'll fare well at any show you chose to attend!

INTERIOR

Climb inside this F100's supple cockpit and you'll find a custom leather interior that's an exercise in style and solitude. Front and center, n extended, ody-matched dash founds simple Auto Meter telemetry beneath a prominent Auto Meter Sport-Comp memory tach. Opposite that dash, upple buckets stretch pliable leather under color-keyed seatbelts. Between those seats, custom console centers a nitrous-enhanced shifter behind a modern Alpine head unit, ontrols for a Vintage Air climate system and buttons for the truck's RideTech air bags. At the bottom of that console, remium carpet frames custom kick panels, illet foot pedals and a chrome fire extinguisher. At the edges of that carpet, old door panels tuck hidden handles and small puddle lamps inside fully striped jambs. And the driver stays connected to the road through a tilting column that spins a sweet Lecarra steering wheel.

Customs like this super cool Ford continue to prove that trucks are rapidly transcending from working-class hot rods to choice trophy winners. It takes vision, ime, kill, alent, edication and a wheel barrel full of dollars to finish a vehicle of this caliber. That said; this Ford's construction cost was probably double our asking price. And at this level, here's simply no comparison to garden-variety hot rods.
