This is a gorgeous classic 1974 Ford Highboy F-250, 4x4, 4 speed, V-8 engine. The 4x4 works great. Just put tags on it and they are good until 4/2019. In California no smog certificate is required. I have a clean and clear title in my name. I just bought this beauty about 6 months ago. This is my dream truck. UnfortunatelyI have some Medical issues and have to sell it. This is a Southern California truck from when it came off the show room floor. I bought this truck from the second owner. He had it just over 18 years. She was well taken care of. Routine oil changes along with turn-ups. I bought this truck in Bakersfield California and no rust on her that I can find. This truck is a joy to drive around in. I always have people ask me questions about it. No matter if the person is a Ford, Chevy or Dodge lover they all love this one. Pictures and Video does not do this truck justice.
The body is beyond nice for the age. It really surprised me how straight it is and only have 2 tiny little dings that are hard to see them. If you didn't know they were there it would be hard to even notice. Again the body is absolutelyperfect. It only needs a clear coat.
Only have 100,200 original miles. The engine bay is clean and the truck has no oil leaks anywhere. You can park it over a white sheet for a week and will not see any oil leaks. In the video you will see the cement where truck is setting in my drive way. There is oil on it but that is not from this truck it is from my other vehicle. The Bumper and chrome are straight as the body. However on the piece over the rear finder wheel is where the tiny ding is.
Everything on this truck is original except the tire, rims, seat cover and I put that on there since the seat had a few rips, stereo, locking gas cap and the toolbox that is in working condition and has the keys to lock it.
The tailgate, doors, hood all works and shuts great as if they were almost new. Has original jack and components that came with the truck. Truck dos not over heat at all. It holds great oil pressure. All gauges works great. The truck has the original power steering and yes it still works. Unfortunately it does not come with A/C. However, the heater works good.
I had my mechanic take out the radiator flush it out, boil it and put back with all new fluids. It is the original radiator. Had all the oil in engine, front and back axle, transmission and transfer case changed. Has all new pure synthetic oil put in. Brand new brakes, hubs andcaliper put on front of the truck. The back brakes and hubs were good. New Spark plugs, wire, cap, points and rotter done. I still have new wires and spark plugs for next time when needed. I also replaced the brake fluid. Did not change out the power steering fluid. Replaced the battery about 2 months ago. Whole underneathtruck and chassis has been greased. I still have the original air filter.
What the truck still needs.. My mechanic said the carburetor is the original one and will probably need a professional to rebuild it in the near future. The truck did set for a year. He did take if off and cleaned it and replaced injectors, float andgaskets. Need a driver side door panel, you should be able to pick a new one up for $50-$80. Need a clear coat as I have mentioned. It is starting to peel. Tires are still in good shape however they are sun dry and a little old. The tread is like new. need windshield blades along with the knobs and knobs for the headlights. You can still turn them on and off but missing the knobs. For some reason the blinkers do not work and not sure why. It has an exhaust leak. But it still drives good.
