1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 1F05M101754 VIN Decoded: 1: 1971 F: Dearborn, MI 05: Fastback Mach 1 M: 351ci 4V V8 (285hp, 370 lbft) 101754: Sequential Number Trim Tag Decoded: Body: Fastback, Bucket Seats (63R) Color: Wimbledon White (5M) Trim: Medium Blue Knitted Vinyl (5B) Axle: 3.00 (6) Trans: C6 Automatic (U) DSO: Atlanta, GA (21) Build Date: August 1970 We purchased this '71 Mach 1 from a gentleman in Tennessee. He had purchased the car ten years earlier from a long-term owner in Alabama and driven the car home to... Tennessee. Having been sold out of Atlanta when new, this car has more than likely spent its whole life in the Southeastern part of the country. As it sits, this is a driver-level example. The car runs and drives very well and sounds fantastic, but is quite a ways off from its original spec. While the car retains its 351 and C6 Automatic, the original white over blue color scheme was done away with at some point in favor of red over black. From a cosmetic standpoint the car is a bit tired, but it is a nicely-sorted driver that can be enjoyed without stressing about keeping it cosmetically perfect. Exterior: - Please take a look at the video along with the listing, as that will be the best way to get a look at the car. The video will provide close-ups of each of the cosmetic blemishes. - Paint is fair. It's a bit faded with a handful of cracks and flakes scattered about the car. - Body is nice and straight, with no dents or dings. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack free. - Chrome is excellent. Rear bumper shows no oxidation at all, and the wheels are in nice shape as well. Tires, while they have tread left, are a bit older and should be replaced sooner rather than later. Interior: - Once blue, the original interior was dyed black at some point. With the exception of a couple spots on the driver's outer bolster where you can see the dye fading back to blue, the interior is in really nice shape. Seats show no tears or scuffs in both front and rear. - Dash shows no cracks or damage. - Headliner is nice and tight. - Carpet is in good shape. - Radio powers on, though it just plays static. Car needs an antennae. The fan, heat, and all gauges are functional. - Odometer reads 13,313 and is functional, though we are unsure of actual mileage. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a good look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. The underbody is quite dry, with no through rust. Frame rails and floors are in nice shape. Very much structurally sound. - The car retains a 351ci V8 (with Edelbrock 4BBL) and C6 automatic transmission, and both are believed to be original. - The car runs and drives really nicely. Exhaust note is fantastic. The car pulls hard through the gears, shifts nice and smooth, and brakes straight and effectively. It fires up first turn without fault, idles steady and cool, and doesn't smoke or demonstrate any tendencies or noises of concern.
